Easy Newsletter Mailing

What do you like about MailChimp?

I have been using MailChimp for many years working for different companies. First of all, the system is very user friendly so that you can set in in minutes and enjoy the experience working with it. Secondly, it is very affordable for a company of any size as they have various subscription options. Thirdly, I even got their T-shirt with the Monkey when we first started using it many years ago. :)

What do you dislike about MailChimp?

There is really nothing bad I could tell about my experience with MailChimp. Otherwise, would not have used it for so many years.

What have you been using it for and what problems did MailChimp solve?

The system is really good for Newsletter Campaigns and site users updates. Also, we have always been using sign up API to grow our subscriber's base.

My favorite email service

// Content Marketer at IncentFit

What do you like about MailChimp?

It was so easy to use MailChimp, and I was disappointed when my umbrella company switched providers. The interface was ridiculously simple to figure out, and I made colorful, engaging templates for our monthly newsletter. You can use MailChimp for free up to a certain amount of subscribers, so I was able to prove the usefulness of the platform to my bosses before we needed to upgrade to a paid plan. If you're brand new to email marketing, they have a "learning" section with help content and videos.

What do you dislike about MailChimp?

I had no complaints about the actual service, but the pricing made it difficult for us to scale our mailing list. That was the deciding factor for switching to a different service (which I liked less, as a user).

MailChimp is great!

// Graphic Designer at Anthony Garcia

What do you like about MailChimp?

Building a mailing list is one of the most important things you need to do in your marketing efforts. MailChimp makes building and managing your mailing list easy, and your emails beautiful. The templates and tools they have for building your email campaigns couldn't be easier, and they look really nice. Clean and simple, and never spammy looking.

What do you dislike about MailChimp?

I haven't come across anything I didn't like so far. I mean, there were a couple of things that were slightly confusing along the way, but I was able to look up what was going on and figure it out without any problem. There was a thing with the footer that looked like a mess when I was testing a campaign, but it was fine once the real email was sent out. I just didn't understand what I was seeing at first.

What have you been using it for and what problems did MailChimp solve?

I use MailChimp for building and maintaining my email list for my business as well as for some of my clients. Setting it up is quick and easy, and it is well supported and integrates with just about everything. I haven't come across any other tool that I needed to have work with MailChimp where it didn't integrate perfectly.

Used weekly for our news letter

// Managing Director at The Recruitment Geeks

What do you like about MailChimp?

Use this weekly for our newsletter and also marketing compaigns. Works really well and has really good back end stats for us to monitor good product and worth a go. We like how we can make the emails look as well. fully tailored to what you need. Keep up the good work.

What do you dislike about MailChimp?

Pricing possibly a little bit of an issue, it does get a little expensive dependant on number of people you want to send to. But i imagine this will evolve over time so not big issue as such! Good company and easy to use!

What have you been using it for and what problems did MailChimp solve?

No issues

Fine product with room for growth

// Tutor at Macomb Community College

What do you like about MailChimp?

I think that Mailchimp is a great email marketing service. I use this product regularly and enjoy creating campaigns with it. I would recommend implementing more uses though. I have been using this platform for less than 60 hours and I know how to use just about everything and want more! Haha.

What do you dislike about MailChimp?

I wish it provided more options. I think that having a little more options like more tracking options would be cool. Also, if you could implement fading colors into buttons or pictures that would be fun.

The Best There Is

// Comms Consultant at MediaMixUp

What do you like about MailChimp?

Mailchimp is excellent, easy to use, delivers big numbers. It has countless integrations. Almost everyone it seems uses it. So you kind of can't go wrong. Nobody ever got fired for using IBM, they used to say, and it's a bit like that with Mailchimp. Also of course, the branding and the copywriting is a triumph, the UX too, so it's actually fun to use.

What do you dislike about MailChimp?

OK, a few things:

Mailchimp is expensive, the most expensive of them all in terms of mass-email services. Of course, you get what you pay for so it must be forgiven.

Also, there's something - mostly - recognisable about a Mailchimp email, so everyone kind of knows you're using it and you're not some sort of genius developer who's made their own system from the ground up. No problem though.

I have had a few problems with Mailchimp blocking emails, once because of gambling content (it was so innocuous you wouldn't believe it) and once because of alcohol content (again, nothing). Anyway, it was resolved and I guess they have to be careful in order to keep up high standards. Also, they are very strict about unsubscribes in any serious number...

What have you been using it for and what problems did MailChimp solve?

Solopreneur enterprises and client enterprises, a great way to reach large audiences.

I've also been using TinyLetter, their free, simple email-tool. It's great. I recommend it. But I've heard Mailchimp may sometime soon absorb it into Mailchimp.

An efficient way to email.

// Sales And Marketing Specialist at GroupThinq

What do you like about MailChimp?

I’ve been using MailChimp for a year, along with other email marketing software’s, and MailChimp is one of the best email marketing softwares in the market. MailChimp is a very popular email marketing platform that makes it easy to send out mail campaigns. We use a great plugin for our gravity forms pushing anyone that submits a form on our website to a specific MailChimp list, group, or segment. This makes it easier than trying to regularly upload a list each time it changes. It's popular for good reasons as setting up templated emails is really simple, guided by a step-by-step process with additional coding and advanced setup features. It also allows for RSS feeds to be sent to a blog signup list. Creating automatic drip campaigns is another feature we utilize heavily and works great at increasing follow-up. The split A/B testing is a great way to test the messages of your marketing campaign. Being able to see the reports on clicks and users makes it one of the best features of MailChimp. We use it as a way to know our warm leads we should be reaching out to.

What do you dislike about MailChimp?

Although being easy to use, the few spots you get snagged up on are better resolved through a Google search than a chat to the support people. They stink. The other big con to MailChimp is the way it handles lists, groups, segments, and signup forms. Because MailChimp bills you for every last contact you have with your lists, creating duplicate lists can be an expensive mistake. The only way to separate contacts without getting double billed is to use segments and groups. This creates a challenge when using the signup forms, as the person will have to choose their preferred group to join. It would be better if MailChimp either made the signup forms group based or allowed for separate lists without duplicate charges. The other big downside to MailChimp is the difficulty with managing a user's email preferences. For example, if a user only wants to receive monthly emails instead of weekly emails, creating that option can be a bit tricky without some careful planning. It would be simpler if MailChimp created a frequency option as a customer profile option. This would fail-safe against sending out too many emails to someone that wanted fewer emails.

What have you been using it for and what problems did MailChimp solve?

Mailchimp solves the problem of sending out mass emails or controlling your email output. When our website is down we can simply list all our users on mailchimp and send a mass email out.

Super easy to use!

// Head of Marketing & Customer Success at LiveAgent

What do you like about MailChimp?

Mailchimp is probably the easiest to use email automation software. Still, it provides us with advanced integration possibilities with their API. I like that whenever I need to send out a quick newsletter or email campaign, I can simply use the drag & drop email builder or if you prefer html formatted emails, you can use that easily as well. I like that their automation is built that even a newcomer can easily set it up or do modifications. The predefined designs are well designed.

What do you dislike about MailChimp?

It's a bit more expensive but happy to pay the extra for the better UX. Other than that, I can't really describe any other downsides. One feature that is missing for my is some kind of a global unsubscribe list which would hold a list of emails that can never be emailed.

What have you been using it for and what problems did MailChimp solve?

We use mailchimp for automating our onboarding emails for trial signups. We also use it to send out a newsletter bi-monthly and for occassional email campaigns.

Poor Customer Support

// Editor at AlphaDigits

What do you like about MailChimp?

"Forever Free" plan is completely free and is better than a lot of other services...

What do you dislike about MailChimp?

Their customer support. You can never get a response from them if you use a free service.

What have you been using it for and what problems did MailChimp solve?

I have been using to sell my service through their email marketing. When you send mails through Mailchimp, your mails won't land in Spam. That is something very impressive...

Useful tool with tonnes of ready-to-use email templates

// Content writer and Social media marketer at PromptCloud

What do you like about MailChimp?

The huge collection of ready-to-use email templates. They are beautiful and easy to edit and create too.

What do you dislike about MailChimp?

The flow is not very smooth and many a times, you will have trouble finding important buttons and options on their interface.

What have you been using it for and what problems did MailChimp solve?

Sending email newsletters to clients and employees. They took away the time and effort that could've gone into designing them.

Mail Chimp makes mail easy

What do you like about MailChimp?

I love the themes, and the ease of use. More than that I love the A/B testing. Using different headlines to get higher open rates. Segmenting is also brilliant.

What do you dislike about MailChimp?

I've been using MC for about 5 years now. At first, I found it a little difficult to use, and understand. Over time I used it more and more, and now there is nothing that I can really complain about.

What have you been using it for and what problems did MailChimp solve?

We use MC for everything to basic marketing, feature releases, and setting up automation for e-courses.

For a freemium service, you'd expect there to be noticeable feature gaps in a piece of software like MailChimp. Anything I've ever needed to do or measure is presented clearly in the free version, and the drag and drop nature of their templates is easy enough for anyone to use (with the option to write your own html code if you are comfortable doing so). Every email is fully responsive and mobile ready.
