Chatra is a cloud-based chat platform with live chat, chatbots, email, and social messaging functionalities. This chat software is designed to help small businesses and eCommerce retailers increase conversions. It allows users to use a group chat function to let employees and specialists easily collaborate in one chat window.

Chatra comes with several useful features that are suited for many businesses, including email, Facebook Messenger, Instagram channels, chatbots, productivity functions, analytics, and developer tools. These functions can help streamline day-to-day operations, and the functionalities scale well per plan upgrade.

Using Chatra’s free plan already gives users an online and offline chat widget, a browser dashboard, software for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android devices, and integrations. Subscribing to paid plans gives users access to more functionalities that are useful for many small businesses.

Chatra Features

Using Chatra gives users plenty of features that even free users will find useful for their needs. The paid plans unlock more features for growing organizations that have multiple people responsible for customer service needs. Some of these features include the following:

Pop-up chat

Site visitors will be able to use a pop-up chat window. This is great for businesses since they can seamlessly offer customer support through the chat widget, and customers will be able to easily find support.

Chatbots

Chatbots are useful for automatically answering several FAQs. This allows customer support teams to focus on more important inquiries rather than repeating answers to questions already asked multiple times. Users can also set up the chatbot to collect contact information through form fields.

Multi-channel support

Chatra’s agent groups feature allows users to assign certain visitor chats to groups of agents, like “sales,” “support,” or a specific custom group, according to a company’s needs. This feature is exclusive to the Pro plan and can be useful to ensure that each customer is easily assigned to a specific group chat.

Conversation history and transcripts

Users won’t have to worry about losing their customers’ communications data as long as it isn’t manually or automatically deleted. It will be possible to scroll up to past conversations to review them and see missed or offline messages. Transcripts can also be forwarded to an email.

Email open tracking

When sending out emails through Chatra, users will be able to keep track of whether the emails sent are opened or not. This is useful when conducting email marketing campaigns to see which customers engage with email messages or not.

Integrations

Chatra allows users to integrate the chat platform with other software and applications. Functional free version

Chatra comes with three subscription plans, including one free plan. The free version is useful enough for small businesses to provide customer support, especially when it still isn’t necessary to have multiple people in charge of it. This is because the free plan is only limited to one user.

The free Chatra plan has enough utility, even with the possible integrations being more limited compared to the paid plans. This is because browser dashboards, desktop and mobile apps, unlimited concurrent conversations, complete conversation histories, and Google Analytics are available in the free plan.

Integrated chat function

Integrating Chatra gives users a unified chat and messaging platform that can also receive messages sent from Facebook and Instagram. This platform is useful to streamline both internal communications between employees and communications with customers. Unfortunately, the unified platform is only available to paid plan users.

Free users will be able to use a good chat software solution that has SSL encryption, but only paid users will be able to use the team and group chat features. Smaller businesses with few employees will be able to take full advantage of the free plan while growing businesses with more customers and employees will need one of the paid plans.

Compliance with data protection regulations

Chatra complies with GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act 2018, CCPA, HIPAA, and the PCI. Chatra has always had a breach management and communication plan when handling personal data, and it updated the process to comply with GDPR.

Chatra Pricing

Chatra is available in three different plans, including one free plan. The paid plans are the Essential plan, which costs $21 per agent per month or $17 per agent per month charged yearly, and the Pro plan, which costs $29 per agent per month or $23 per agent per month charged yearly.

The features in the Free plan are great for small businesses; however, the plan is only limited to one user. Upgrading to the Essential plan allows users to take advantage of chatbots, visitor intelligence, and email integration, but it’s still necessary to subscribe to the Pro plan to set up operating hours, agent groups, data exports, and more integrations. Fortunately, the two paid plans are still affordable enough that skipping Essentials for Pro is still practical.

Chatra comes with both a 10-day free trial of the Essential and Pro plans and a Free plan for one agent that can be used to test out the platform and the available features. No credit card is required when opting for the free trial plan.

Chatra is an easy-to-use chat platform with plenty of features available even in the Free plan—site visitors only need to click on the widget to send a message, and the dashboard is user-friendly. Users can see a visitor’s status, making it even easier to communicate with customers.
