RingCentral Review

Editors' Review by the VoIP Software Review Team

RingCentral is one of the top cloud-based phone systems in the current market. With powerful features catered for voice communications, online meetings and business conferences, users are equipped with a fully-functional and highly-intuitive VOIP platform. This solution is catered to businesses and organizations that need a proper communication system.

Before, companies relied heavily on a physical communication setup. This means having to deal with the challenges of maintaining and updating hardware, software, location, training and operators. This is observed mainly in call center agencies, where people without the necessary resources are expected to clock in and make use of desktops and phone systems. Businesses with customer service representatives also must deal with several applications and hardware systems.

However, with RingCentral, all these issues and problems are eliminated. What this software does is it centralizes all locations and allows employees to work offsite instead of onsite. It even has a mobile app that works just as well as the desktop version. You can have full control and access to all functionalities such as settings configuration and extensions management.

RingCentral Features

The top features in RingCentral include:

Cloud phone system

Since the phone system is cloud-based, you can expect mobility, flexibility and scalability within the solution. Users can choose from a variety of phone numbers and install important applications on your devices. This also helps in improving your communications since you have additional tools such as call forwarding and the Call Flip feature.

This feature also has administration and international coverage capabilities, allowing you to work closely with your team and extend your reach to a global scale.

Meetings

When it comes to all types of meetings in RingCentral, users can experience HD-quality video and audio. It also has one-click functionality and webinar capabilities, courtesy of RingCentral Meetings. You can now conduct video and audio conferences, cloud telepresence and webinars with high-quality standards.

Messaging

Businesses rely heavily on teamwork. If employees can’t function well within a small team then it can negatively affect the whole business. RingCentral reduces the problems a company would normally experience in the workforce. It does this by providing users with team collaboration features, business SMS and MMS and message alerts.

Security

Another notable feature RingCentral has taken into consideration is its security detail. Users can stay connected, regardless of outages and network attacks, through a series of capabilities. This includes secure VOIP service, single sign-on, assigned roles and permissions as well as a data center overview.

Analytics

Knowing the performance of your business is critical in improving certain strategies or workforce scheduling. You can gain in-depth insights through the help of advanced call management systems and analytics. Additional tools include analytics portal, performance reports, QoS reports and live reports.

RingCentral Pricing

When it comes to RingCentral, users can enjoy four different pricing solutions. These plans are based on the available features and the type of business that it’s catered to. You have two payment options as well—monthly and annual. With the latter, you can save up to 33%. For every pricing package, you can try a limited, 30-day trial version of it. This helps you decide on which is the best plan for your organization.

Essentials

The first plan is entitled Essentials. It can work with up to 20 users and is priced at $19.99 per month. This lets you work with the following features:

  • Unlimited phone calls within the US and CA
  • Toll-free or local number
  • 100 toll-free minutes/month
  • Voicemail-to-text

Standard

The next plan costs $24.99 per month and per user. It has everything Essentials offers but with a few notable differences and additional functionalities. These are:

  • Unlimited audio meetings
  • Unlimited video conferencing (four people as the maximum)
  • 1,000 toll-free minutes per month
  • Unlimited internet fax

Premium

The third pricing package, whose price starts at $34.99 per month and user, is the most popular option for users. With a reasonable and inexpensive cost, you can enjoy everything Standard offers but with these additions:

  • Unlimited video conferencing (100 people as the maximum number of people in a meeting)
  • 2,500 toll-free minutes/month
  • Automated call recording

Ultimate

The last pricing package is Ultimate, which has everything RingCentral offers. Priced at $49.99, you can make the most of all the tools and features not found in the previous plans. What makes this plan different from Premium is the number of people (200) you can add to your meetings and the maximum number of toll-free minutes (10,000).

However, users should keep in mind that there are additional fees. Toll-free and local numbers have a $4.99 per month tag attached to them and for every vanity number you add, you’ve to pay a one-time fee of $30. Moreover, every international number you add will cost you $5.99 monthly per user. Lastly, any additional international toll-free number adds $14.00 per month to the total.

Conclusion

Maintaining good and stable customer relationships is critical in businesses and companies. Without a proper system to monitor calls, answer inquiries and escalate issues, organizations can experience a backlash or handicap. But with RingCentral, you can expand globally and competitively with the help of local numbers and communications services across more than 80 countries.

If you’re looking for a VOIP platform designed to maximize productivity and increase efficiency, then RingCentral is a top contender in today’s current market. With tools that empower your teams in terms of phone calling, team messaging and video conferencing, you can expect a flexible and scalable software solution.

One of the most important things RingCentral has considered is the varying sizes of the businesses. Its pricing plans make it easy for everybody to experience the features and functionalities it offers. The 30-day free trial is also helpful in letting you have a general feel of the system.

"It has allowed me to hire specialized personnel to care for my clients"

What do you like about RingCentral?

It has allowed me to hire specialized personnel for the attention of my clients in a fairly fast and economical way, the fact that my clients can communicate directly with them, without having any type of barrier speaking in terms of location is something quite useful, allows me to find a wide variety of professionals who speak different languages, which is of great help when my clients contact them and do not speak Spanish, its interface is quite simple and easy to use, which allows me to achieve everything what I am looking for to improve communication channels with my company in a safe, easy and fast way, the fact that it supports communication via chat is also of great help to channel any request or requirement of my clients in a more efficient and simple.
It has been being a great help to me to improve the way in which I channeled the attention to my clients in a quite practical, simple and efficient way, which I lost to reduce the waiting times of my clients to solve their requests or requirements of my products, reducing the allocation of specialized technical personnel to trivial problems that what it does is further delay our response times to customer requests and above all, to raise our standards of quality and efficiency to the maximum with customer management

What do you dislike about RingCentral?

To be honest, my life in my company was in chaos when I received the reports about the requests for attention from my clients, and each time we were being left with less staff and more complaints due to the delay in solving a request for part of a user or poor organization and management by the technical support department when assigning cases, we implemented many methods and strategies but all failed, until I decided to give RingCentral one last chance and I must admit that it really helped us to solve everything Quite simply, so to say that I found something negative about its use would be a huge lie.

"Meets Needs, No Frills"

What do you like about RingCentral?

RingCentral is not flashy, but it definitely meets our small business needs. We are a non-profit made up entirely of remote-location employees. To our members we serve, they would never know we are on multiple continents. Each of us is able to have our own phone line via computer app, able to forward, get voicemails, and do all things a hard wired phone service would. The company continues to expand its usability, including its expansion to video conferencing in partnership with Zoom.

What do you dislike about RingCentral?

Even when the desktop version of the RingCentral app is open, there are times that the app does not ring to my laptop and/or cell phone and I am only notified of the missed call from the email it generates. Though this is an annoyance, it is typically signals that there is a new version of the app that needs to be downloaded and refreshed.

What have you been using it for and what problems did RingCentral solve?

Our non-profit has been using RingCentral as our phone management system since shifting to a remote-only work environment in 2018. For our needs, it has been sufficient.

"RingCentral is a great IP phone service"

What do you like about RingCentral?

It's pretty reliable and easy to use. I also really like the add-ons like the fact that we have an app on desktop / phone and can do video conf. and team messaging in the same platform. it's a really good system for that. Plus they do integration with google contacts and others.

What do you dislike about RingCentral?

We've integrated ringcentral with our CRM so we can "click to call" our CRM contacts and so when they call us we see who they are in the caller id. But once in a while the integration breaks and it's rough getting it up again. some times may 2-3 days a week it's down but then it will be find for 6 months. Also it affects some users and not others. So I don't know if it's our crm or ringcentral but aghh. It's rough when it breaks.

What have you been using it for and what problems did RingCentral solve?

Seriously, what's not to love about RingCentral. Here's how they help. Our phone plan includes:
1. IP phone. So I can check my work messages from an app on my cell
2. Video conf for up to 5 people
3. Webinar conf (but you have to pay extra for it)
4. Includes glip team messaging.
etc. etc.

What they really help with is centralizing all our communication into one place.
