I used to do what Lately does, manually.
I’d read through my blog post, curate some tweets and schedule them to post. For each blog post, it could take me over an hour.
With Lately, the AI aspects of the platform reads my blog posts in seconds. It creates the tweets in a few minutes, thereby saving me at least an hour of my time.
Because of the relatively recent Twitter update where it doesn’t like the same tweet to be published several times, Lately handles all of that. It will not let you send duplicate tweets.
Lately can publish to many social media platforms, so sometimes I may choose to post the content onto LinkedIn as well as Twitter.
If you are a social media manager, Lately is a great supporting tool as you can manage several accounts from the one place.
Finally, the thing I love about Lately is the reports it produces for you to show you the reach, the impact, the time saved.
There is nothing that I can see so far, that I dislike about Lately. As far as I can tell, it’s a robust system for me.
Saves time
Saves my brain from having to think what type of social media posts to curate. Lately does it for me.
Sends reports directly to my Inbox.
For a long time, I struggled with trying to produce content across multiple platforms. While there are some that are not conducive to a service such as Lately, they do an excellent job at integrating those that are. I've streamlined my creation process by using Lately to efficiently repurpose long-form content into microcontent across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The biggest factor for me was that I can even have it transcribe audio and video content for use in ways I never had before.
This is a hard question to answer. Most of the things I would classify as "dislikes" are simply features or interface suggestions that aren't implemented yet. I've brought them up to customer support who promptly addressed them with the appropriate individuals and are genuinely considering the feedback I provide. That, in itself, is actually something I like. The things I'd change are small, such as the way certain links or content are organized in the user interface, or adding some functionality to aid with image generation for Instagram posts.
I have saved 3,000 dollars a month (what I used to pay a social media company to do this work) since using Lately. Plus, the work is better, easier to handle, and far less time-consuming than when I had the social company doing the work...those guys spelled stuff wrong and got upset when I pointed out that even on the internet, verb tenses matter. Lol.
It's too fun - and can end up taking more time than I've allotted because I am enjoying it. It lives in the place between work and fun that is very dangerous when you are trying to have an adult day and be productive.
It helped me launch my book and become a #1 best selling author, grow my thought-leadership platform so that I am now receiving incoming calls asking about the possibility of working together.
The problem it helped me solved is I a pretty much a tech-idiot. But they are so on top of customer service I feel like they are just down the hall. Someone is always calling me up or dropping me a note and if they haven't seen me using the system for awhile they send notes making sure I'm OK. Wild. They make me feel like family.
Lately saves our marketing team endless time and frustration when creating and posting content across multiple channels. We can’t imagine marketing without it. now. The Content generator is a huge help in creating content without having to read an entire article/blog and pull out the interesting nuggets for posting; Lately does that for me. I just review and schedule. I also like the calendar, which shows me exactly what's scheduled on any given day, and I can filter that by campaigns!
I'd love to be able to use its post cloning feature on myself. Seriously, I need another staffer to help putthis tool to work. I resisted the new tool, but my learning curve flattened out once I committed to using Lately daily and not defaulting to my old habits and comfort tools
With Lately, we’re now able to launch coordinated campaigns with goal-tracking, calendaring and metrics that deliver, support and validate our message, brand and impact. Thanks to Lately, it looks like we'd hired an agency. I consider them part of my communications team. TryLately also customized a quarterly report I can share with our board and I can report out on dedicated campaigns to track their success. Lately's quick & responsive, answering my questions that might not be in their tutorial bin yet (and they're mostly covered).
Having the ability to let clients approve/edit their social messaging has saved so much back and forth between emails and has made our process work so much smoother. The customer service at Lately is top notch. They respond to every question, no matter how small, and work to find a solution for your team even if it's not immediate. Their customer service is worth the money for this product alone.
Glitches in the system can happen which is part of beta testing and any software program. While it can be frustrating at times, the team at Lately is quick to resolve any issues and make sure future ones are prevented.
