"OnBoard helped our nonprofit navigate COVID"

What do you like about OnBoard?

First, OnBoard has outstanding customer service. The training for our Board members was outstanding and really set us up for success transitioning to this platform. We actually decided to go with OnBoard before COVID mainly to be more green to not have these huge paper binders. But, when COVID hit, OnBoard allowed us to almost seamlessly transition to virtual meetings that were both engaging and information-rich.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

Cost per user prohibits wide distribution of documents with broader membership. It's best for just the Board and Committee Members. For wide document distribution we use Box.

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

Running the association. We are a very member-led non-profit with active committees and a board. OnBoard is where our committees and board come to find documents, cast votes, see the calendar of upcoming meetings, track our governance, etc. OnBoard basically allowed us to become a virtual member-led association not dependent on all-day in-person meetings.

"Board Management Made Easy"

What do you like about OnBoard?

OnBoard makes preparation for board meetings much easier. It also allows for more board engagement between board meetings. It also allows the administration of board records to be done in one place. The board members have commented that navigating the software is very intuitive for them.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

I am disappointed that some of the newer features that the design team has added to the product are only available for purchase and not made available to the basic package. It is still a great product!

"Best Decision We Ever Made"

What do you like about OnBoard?

OnBoard is easy to use, for the administrator and the user. Technical support is excellent. There are resources and training materials available online, and tech support is timely and responsive. OnBoard has streamlined the prep time for Board meetings, and any last minute changes are easily made even minutes before the meeting starts. My Board members have embraced it and love that they can view the Board meeting materials from any location on any device. We only regret we didn't make the change sooner.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

There isn't much that I don't like about OnBoard. They continually improve the software, adding additional functions or tweaking the existing ones a bit. Their rollout of the updates seems to always coincide with my Board prep week so that I have to get used to anything that has been changed in short order, but that's just a timing issue. They recently added a step that requires a user to Save Changes; changes used to be saved automatically. I haven't yet decided if I think the added step really adds value to the process.

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

I use OnBoard for the Board of Trustees meetings. Preparation of the Board materials has been shortened by at least several days, since we used paper copies prior to moving to electronic. Prior to OnBoard, I would have to ship the Board materials to any Board member who was traveling; OnBoard can now be accessed from any location and from any device. The Board members like not having paper copies to dispose of later.

"OnBoard: Excellent Board Portal"

What do you like about OnBoard?

OnBoard is very easy to use and utilize for our board meetings. Even those who are not tech-savvy can still utilize the product. We save a ton of time and paper using it for our board meetings and have excellent buy-in from our board members. OnBoard has a great support team and is so helpful to eliminate paper waste and help facilitate online meetings. I am so glad we have this in place when COVID-19 hit; we have been able to do our governance business easily and quickly with the software.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

I have had no hiccups with OnBoard and do not dislike any features of the product.

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

We use OnBoard for our governing board meetings. We used to make a great many paper three-ring binders for the meetings and were not able to share those before the meetings occurred. Now, we use the portal for materials, saving time and paper, and our members are able to review the materials much earlier. OnBoard made sure we could meet safely during the pandemic, as well.

"Great product for the Board of Directors"

What do you like about OnBoard?

I love having access to all the monthly board books from the past and also all the important information we have housed in OnBoard to be able to reference at any time we need.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

The ability to print specific pages has changed and not quite as easy as it used to be but guessing it's not seeking out training to know how to do it as much as anything.

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

Monthly board books, bylaws, policies, other documents we need to reference on a regular basis.

"a terrific time saver"

What do you like about OnBoard?

It is very easy to use and quite intuitive, and it makes putting together an agenda and materials in advance of a board meeting or committee meeting really easy. Customer support is also excellent.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

in the beginning it was a bit buggy, but in the last 6 months they have really ironed that out. The Zoom interface is new, and still not as good as we could hope.

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

I used to spend hours putting together board packets, saving each doc as a pdf and then arranging them into one pdf document, that I emailed around. The document was sometimes big enough that board members' servers rejected it. And then, if something changed just before the meeting, I had to distribute more documents. Now, I can get the packet up but keep adding to or fixing it - and it takes me a quarter of the time. And Board members find it easier to access (even the stodgier ones).

"OnBoard has Improved our Organizational Governance & Allowed Us to Adapt Quickly in the Virtual Meeting Environment"

What do you like about OnBoard?

Ease of use and simplicity is its strongest feature. The implementation and training of new users is seamless; people of all demographics adapted to the software and way of meetings very quickly.

I also find great value in the ability to update agendas and meeting materials in real time! The voting feature allows us to be more productive in-between meetings.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

Attendance tracking could be improved so that I can track meeting attendance over a period of time and not meeting-by-meeting.

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

I manage 10 boards and committees within our organization and OnBoard has improved consistency and communication across all our entities. Implementing OnBoard has saved me many hours and much frustration as I prepare for several meetings throughout the month. Also, we immediately transitioned from piles of papers at meetings to 100% electronic!

I am always impressed by OnBoards frequent feature upgrades and monthly webinars. They really listen to their client's needs!

"OnBoard has been a great product for our board. "

What do you like about OnBoard?

OnBoard has been very easy for us as admin to learn how to use, as well as teach our board. We love being able to communicate with each other through this software using the messenger feature. We are able to put board minutes, organize agendas, and keep documents here for the board to easily access.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

We have noticed that OnBoard doesn't seem to love Powerpoints so we typically have to convert our powerpoints to PDF's in order to upload. Our board members have mentioned that they would enjoy having text alerts when something is posted, or someone has messaged, etc. Also, we would benefit from esignature features.

"An essential tool for board meetings and management"

What do you like about OnBoard?

OnBoard has been proving itself to be extremely beneficial to our board members.
Just the difference from going from paper board packets to full-on digital has saved an enormous amount of time to prepare for board meetings. Having a section for the calendar,
any resources and even a messenger has brought so much flexibility and comfort to our board members.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

There's not much to not like. At times the iOS app can be a little wonky with not accepting a board member's password. This seems to have been mostly resolved.

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

OnBoard has become an essential tool in the way our board members collaborate and meet.
Without it, we would be in the stone age in terms of technology use. I highly recommend it for any organization seeking to find an easy way to hold and manage board meetings.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

The only thing that I would like to add is the addition of a text notification when anything is added to the portal.

"Really like OnBoard"

What do you like about OnBoard?

Ease of use and customer service for both members and administrator. Implementation representative was great.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

There is nothing I dislike about OnBoard but a few features that I would like additions to - eSignatures and Surveys - allow eSignature signing or surveys or allow write in text to documents that need an esignature

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

We use OnBoard as our portal for all Board of Trustee documents. When I have a question, I just send in a "ticket" from the portal and someone sends me an email with directions. They have helped with surveys, esignatures, permissions etc. They have been great to work with.

What do you like about OnBoard?

"Worth Every Penny!"

What do you like about OnBoard?

I like the various selection of tools that can be utilized for building a successful meeting. The tools are easy to use and save lots of time when putting the meeting together.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

With recent upgrades made to make virtual meetings run smoothly and effectively, there is nothing I dislike about this software.

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

I use this software to create and coordinate board and committee meetings of the highest levels., including building the board book and organizing the meeting materials. OnBoard helped me to solve where I could organize and file the meeting materials needed for each meeting, as well as save lots of money in resources doing the old way of producing meeting materials. This software allows me to build the materials and save to one location without printing or copying. Definitely a time and money saver.

"OnBoard Review "

What do you like about OnBoard?

We find the OnBoard application to be very user-friendly both for administrators and for end users. The ability to make practically instant updates to agendas and meeting details, add supporting documents and have all the meeting information in one location has been a tremendous asset in making our meetings more efficient and organized. Transitioning from a traditional paper agenda book to an online format has also saved us a great deal of money in printing fees and postage. The solution is easy to navigate with an intuitive dashboard and handy calendar and resource features.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

A nice feature to add would be the ability to personalize what our board sees when they log in to OnBoard. Adding our logos, company colors, etc. would be a plus as right now, we are unable to do this. You are also not able to customize the fonts, font size, etc. when you add something to the Announcements section. This is not a big deal but being able to make the dashboard landing a little more familiar to our board would be a plus.

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

We have been using OnBoard to manage details of our three annual board meetings. This means agenda building for each committee meeting, gathering of supporting documentation, dissemination of information and updates to trustees as well as gathering information on attendance and other RSVP’s. Using OnBoard has made our meetings more efficient by being able to make real-time updates and changes when necessary. It has also helped tremendously with our budget but cutting significant costs related to printing and postage fees.

"Worth Every Penny"

What do you like about OnBoard?

Where do I start? From the time we decided to make the switch to OnBoard from another board portal software, we have been reminded many times over that we made the right choice. From the ease of implementation to the customer service, we have been extremely happy with our switch. Not only that but our board members love the ease of use and the app is so easy to navigate.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

Currently, we truly have no areas we dislike in the OnBoard portal. We made the switch to OnBoard because of features it had that others didn't. Very satisfied.

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

We use OnBoard for meeting materials, approvals, votes, etc. for our Board of Trustees as well as our councils and committees.

What do you like about OnBoard?

1. Online voting feature
2. annotation feature
3. integration with zoom for remote meetings
4. prompt notifications on any changes
5. book-building feature

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

1. having to re-build the meeting book after clicking on a loaded document
2. cannot accommodate excel spreadsheets; have to resize or format an excel spreadsheet to ensure it fits in the window

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

I have been using it for the past 2 years now to facilitate senior management meetings in our company and it has helped organize meeting documents and helped streamline the time it takes to both prepare for a meeting and close out a meeting with final approvals and meeting minutes.

"Great Transition from Paper"

What do you like about OnBoard?

The software is very easy to use. It eliminates the need for paper and allows for quick and efficient board packet generation and dissemination. It also makes it extremely easy to make additions and revisions to the disseminated packet. My experience is positive. Transitioning to the software has saved time and resources when preparing for board meetings and accomplishing tasks such as e-signature during and in between board meetings. Customer support is quick to respond via email or telephone and resolves most issues immediately.

What do you dislike about OnBoard?

The price continues to increase annually by 4-6% and may exceed the value of the software in the future.

What have you been using it for and what problems did OnBoard solve?

I have used it to prepare for monthly board meetings and related board committee meetings. We've only had minor issues when using OnBoard and customer service was able to resolve them. For instance, a board member was unable to login despite the admin resetting and providing her with a temp password. Another issue we experienced was a board member completing a survey and the survey not saving all of her answers. OnBoard support was thorough in its investigation of that issue.
