I'm backing up a number of computers using a Synology server and was looking for a backup solution. I tried a number of products, including the native Synology software, but every product seemed to have some limitation that I could not over come. I tried MSP360 since I had previously used the product when it was Cloudberry Backup and it worked perfectly. It's easy to use and meets all of my needs.
MSP360 is easy to use and is very powerful. It contains both image and file backups solutions and allows fine grained control of the process. The UI is intuitive and product is simple to use.
Great product, I recommend it to everyone who likes to keep a backup of their data.
The price could be more affordable, but due to its qualities I think it's a right value.
Their backup solution is the absolute best in the market. It allows me to keep all of our devices backed up and secure without having to worry about babying the software.
I haven't had any complaints with the software so far and I've been using it for over 2 years.
- It has rich functions and features that allow you to solve most backup problems, such as compression, encryption, cloud backup, scheduled backup, and synthetic full backup.
- The cloud backup is efficient. Unlike some cloud backup solutions, it doesn’t need to spend much time downloading the previous data from the cloud. It seems like it caches indices of previous versions locally.
- It supports AWS Glacier. It’s essential if you have a large amount of data to backup. Some backup software has its own backup storage, but the backup or restoration speed is very slow. With the support of AWS Glacier, there’s no such problem.
- It supports sending email notifications when a backup finishes; no custom SMTP server is required.
- It uses traditional full backup + incremental backup, and it doesn’t support merging full backup and incremental backup, which is supported by Easeus Todo Backup. It supports several groups of full backup + incremental backup, called generations, but that means you need to keep several copies of the full backup, which increases the storage cost. “Duplicati” completely avoids the chaining problem at all ([https://www.duplicati.com/articles/Storage-Engine/](https://www.duplicati.com/articles/Storage-Engine/)), but Duplicati is much less robust for large backup (>1TB) on the cloud, and it doesn’t support AWS glacier. It’s a tradeoff.
- It doesn’t support on-demand backup when files are changed, which is supported by Easeus Todo Backup.
- The synthetic full backup doesn’t support archive storage, e.g., S3 Glacier. You can, however, manually change the storage class to Standard when you want to do a synthetic backup and then restore the storage class afterward.
- There’s a limit of 5TB of cloud storage for the desktop version.
AWS Glacier is very cost-effective, and I want to find a product to help me back up my files to AWS Glacier.
It does what it promises and and it does that in a very easy way. I have tested backups with local machines / VMs into local and S3 based backup destinations. Restore worked like charm and i found the restore feature into a seperate VM very usefull.
UI is clean and does not have too many options which makes the software simple to use.
Price for local pc backup versions seems too high, especially if multiple subscriptions are needed. Other than that, nothing to complain.
Backup of several local machines and vm's to local and cloud destinations. Restore of files/bare metals and restore into VM.
I mainly use it for local storage. I like the ability to bring your own storage. It has everything you need
No negative comments so far! I really like it because it has everything you need
Usefull software that save lot of time; its easy to use and it have lot options.
Price could be cheaper, but programmers usually eat. The price its second cuestion with this app.
Using the software has been very easy so far. I like that there are many options that can be used with the software, but currently I am only using the file backup service. I may add more in the future, but currently that is working very well.
I feel that it would be better if the history was easier to see such as how much was uploaded or downloaded from the cloud with each backup.
I am currently using this for file backup and moved to this since the current backup software was downloading a lot of data from the cloud each time it performed a backup and there was no way to turn that off. That download quantity was costing me unnecessary fees.
Ease of use is the most important factor for me. The learning curve was short, instructions were helpful. I started with the free version and have decided to move forward with the paid version. I appreciate that the license is per device and only payable once. The peace of mind from having the backup completed automatically is worth so much more than the cost of the license!
I'd say only one word of caution: keep that password safe. When you are ready to restore the backup, you'll need it.
I didn't review their customer service, because I haven't needed them.
It did take a little study for me to get the backup plan in place. Although today the documentation is clear, it wasn't so clear to me when I first started (user confusion - not a product issue)
My external hard drives would break or fail, then all my work would be gone. Now, it is safe.
The number of different cloud services providers that are supported is really great. The website didn't mention it, but apparently e.g. IBM Cloud, Alibaba Cloud and OVH are also among those supported. You aren't locked into one cloud, so you can scatter your cloud utilisation based on features, speed and pricing.
The new backup format isn't supported by all features and there's many options that are redundant in conjunction with it, but they don't get deactivated in the UI, which makes the UX a bit tacky. Native Oracle Cloud integration is missing. More encryption options would be welcome (like e.g. Camellia and RC6).
Getting a more high quality backup setup. So far the program has really done what it was supposed to do.
- Interoperability with several cloud providers;
- Guided wizard for creating custom backups;
- Support to SMB shares
- The UX isn't really great. Probably, they wanted to create a product that makes happy both experienced users and people with little understanding of computers. A better solution could be having a more detailed wizard procedure and a simplified one. In particular, several options should be more clear, clarifying what is their impact in the process.
- Apparently, open files can't be really copied, even when using any combination of the two shadow files copy option in the plan.
Backups in my company, greatly helped managing files mapped in different SMB shares and to upload them to a fast online bucket.
This software is exactly what I was looking for. I used to use FastGlacier to keep my backups on Amazon Glacier. CloudBerry Backup allows me to take advantage of the same storage platform but also the new dirt cheap Deep Glacier from Amazon. Unlike Fast Glacier, I can automatically schedule my backups. The cost of storage on Deep Glacier is so low that I am configuring CloudBerry Backup to keep 10 versions of each files!
I tested a restore of my data from a freshly installed PC that did not contain the CloudBerry Backup database and everything works great. The software keeps the database on Deep Glacier and recovers it before starting the restore.
This software doesnt provide the easiest interface to use.

Here are the reasons why I like CBB:
* Price is affordable (especially after getting some coupon code)
* You are purchasing the license and not paying a subscription like other competitors
* I like the block and incremental backup versions
Here is what a dislike(not really a dislike but more like criticism):
*UI looks very dated
*Setup is not very straight forward. You have to do some research on to what you needed to get your first backup to work( this is only from my experience; might be different from others)
Cloudberry Backup is easy to install and configure. It lasted minutes to configure a full backupjob to backup selected files to cloud / local disks.
Up to now, I did not find any problems with the software, so everybody who is looking for a good flexible backup solution for Desktop or Server is good to go with Cloudberry Backup
Straightforward installation and and easy to use. Upload speeds seems to be pretty quick.
Nothing yet. I'm just starting to use it but one of the true tests will be the ability to sync my two computers.
OneDrive is getting very slow for me and the number of files I'm backing up is causing delays in syncs.
Really easy to setup backups to amazon s3, simple to use and to know that you backups have worked.
Love the email that emails on completion as it means I can easily monitor other users PC backups with out getting in their way.
The UI is nice, but some of the wizards are a bit long, there are lots of settings but some pages only have one check box on them.
It has really helped setting up a robust backup schedule for users PC, with the unlimited storage of S3
Definitely the best backup solution on the market. I have used it for many years always very satisfied with the product
To be honest I like a lot and all aspects of the product. Do not find anything in it that you do not approve of in everyday use.
I use the software to back up my entire digital collection on AWS. Approximately 3.5 TB. In addition to the easy access to everything I need anywhere in the world, it has helped me several times in recovering files deleted by mistake
The ease of your and the flexibility to configure various cloud backup services is exceptional. It has come to my rescue many a times in case of deleted/ corrupted files.
Major savings were realised when we were hit by a ransomware but since we had upto date backups ( by cloudberry) of the devices in question, we did not have to give into the remands.
It has the ability to backup SMB shares as well.
Nothing really. But if i have to nit pick, it should have a password lock option so that the users are not able to disable or mess around with the settings.
ease of use. it is easy to use the software. downloading to AWS is not difficult at all.
In their website they publish 50% discount after trial, but it is not easy to get the discount. they should make the discount for customer easy.
I was looking for a cost effective cloud solution to replace my existing supplier, and found this APP to use too through the Cloud platform..
This software gives me everything I could want to protect my invaluable & costly data. I am able to backup my key data to both my internal NAS, and further protect my data using the Cloud.
The software has a host of features which are a "must" for me, Cloud backup / Restore, Versioning, Encryption, comprehensive scheduling, and more. And to top it all it also has Image backup to enable Bare Metal Restore, and it's Quick - I get my full upload bandwidth used much of the time.
Not really found anything that I "dislike" about the product so far, but there are some enhancements which would be beneficial... Modifying Plans can be a chore as there is a need to go back through the step-by step wizard, I was unable to find any wifi connection available whilst attempting a bare metal restore - Had to go and plug it in. (even though my wifi is super fast). And it took me a while to actually get it to find my backup on my NAS (But that was because I only had an online manual and had not read it!.
I have a lot of data which was costly and/or critical to me - I operate a paperless household! This has allowed me to choose a cost effective cloud provider (BackBlaze) and secure my data in an encrypted way in the cloud. I am also able to use this same software to protect the physical make-up of my PC using local backups & Disk Images. Before I found this it was looking like I would need 2 solutions.
It's possible to select Amazon S3 class directly form software. Archive Mode reduces the number of requests to cloud storage.
Limits of storage size for chipped versions and a bit old fashions user interface but very clearly.
Trial period only exposed features for the version I was planning on buying, making for a realistic test.
It runs in the background reliably.
allows me to select multiple drives and folders to backup in the same backup plan
supports many cloud backup solutions
There is a good wizard for setting up a new plan or modifying an existing one, with different features explained well.
The notification in the task bar only shows up when the main window is open.
Folders structures from the original drive are duplicated in the cloud storage bucket, it would be nice to be able to specify a specific folder in the bucket. (IE, C:/Users/Jonathan/Documents/ will get stored to C/Users/Jonathan/Documents in the cloud storage bucket)
Backing up personal files and photos. I use Google Photos to make my photos accessible, but for backing up the RAWs and not jut JPEG versions I needed something that was not domain specific, IE it wouldn't modify my files (besides lossless compression and encryption). I decided on Wasabi as my backup provider with MSP360 Backup as the client software. MSP360 Backup has made the process hassle free.
I originally tried MSP360 Explorer, which mounts a cloud bucket to your operating system's file system. This worked remarkably well, but every now and then would have a small hiccup that would cause Windows to pause the file transfer. While I may use Explorer in the future for accessing my files, it was not reliable enough to use as a backup. If MSP360 Backup has had similar hiccups it has recovered and continued on without requiring action from a user.
I was looking for a backup program that would allow for local image backup as well as the ability to back update to Backblaze B2. As a small business owner, I have tried a number of backup programs but, none of them offered everything I was looking for. Some required you to use their cloud storage and the cost just did not add up for the amount of data we create. MSP360 gives us the ability to back up data locally and to use B2 for offsite data. I was also impressed to see that there is the ablity to resrote an image of a computer in the event of lose or unexpected damage.
Have not found anything that I dislike yet. Everything I have tried such as backing up files to B2 and creating a system image has worked without any issues.
I really like that I can use a single product for local backups, network backups, and cloud backups using the cloud provider of my choice (Wasabi). It is my centralized backup solution for both incremental backups as well as images for disaster recovery.
It does not appear to offer client side deduplication, which my previous solution did. I will know better the impact after all backups have been migrated to Cloudberry, but I expect that my cloud storage bill may go up a little as a result
A single product for my backup strategy which previously used three different products.
I was looking for a backup solution beyond Google Drive and OneDrive. I decided to go with AWS, but was unsure of HOW to get my data there in an automated fashion. After doing a fair bit of research, I settled on MSP360 (CloudBerry) Backup.
The interface is fairly intuitive and within minutes I had set up a scheduled backup of a select set of folders on my laptop. (wanting to test speed and price with AWS before I pushed over 1TB up).
I couldn't be more happy. I am preparing to expand my backup to my Video Archive of all my family videos and my son's musical performances.
To date, I have found no aspects of MSP360 (CloudBerry) Backup that I do not like, or find problematic.
The ease at which I can setup SQL backups is amazing, I've always struggled with an off site sql backup solution especally for SQL Express, this just does it out the box, full and differential, it's also got pre-defined templates as well so it's even easier.
Nothing as of yet, it's up to date in UI and UX, the install is easy and it's easy to use.
The connection with Backblaze is easy to setup and provide a real time backup solution
Little bit hard to setup, not so user friendly but lot of features.. we cannot have everyhting
I´m using MSP360 (CloudBerry) Backup in my home PC. It´s easy to use and meet my needs.
The encryption limitation of MSP360 (CloudBerry) Backup free version and problems to delete files from backup. I had to execute the delete function more than 3 times to clear it all.
Easy to use, soild functioning. Done the job perfectly. Have everything I need for a back up solution
Easy to missunderstand functions between each version of the program. I don't know actually which version should I buy.
I had been searching so long for a good, reliable backup solution to backup my data from my Windows desktop to S3. I'm so glad I found MSP360 Backup. It's easy to use and fast and has all the features I need.
Selecting which files to exclude from the backup is a bit clunky. It works but I have seen more convenient solutions in other products.
I use it to backup data from my private Windows PC.
The highlights for me are:
- Reliability. I've been thoroughly evaluating MSP360 Backup for the past month, including backing up about 1TB of data, and testing restoration from remote storage (S3 Glacier Deep Archive) with a secondary computer, to simulate total loss of primary computer. All of my testings have completed successfully, and the backup software managed to restore the data as expected, in a timely manner (i.e., within the normal retrieval time range for the S3 tier I've been using).
- Security. I'm quite jealous for the privacy of my personal data, and appreciate MSP360 Backup's ability to encrypt my data at the client-side, without sharing the encryption key with any other party. Needless to say, the data was decrypted successfully when I tested restoration.
- Customer service. During my short evaluation period, I've reached customer support 3 times - a couple of times for technical issues, and one time in request of extending the trial period for further evaluation. All of my requests were answered professionally and promptly - to my complete satisfaction.
- Overall backup cost. The combination of the reasonable one-time license fee for MSP360 Backup, and the super low-cost storage tier of AWS S3, makes the overall backup cost unmatchable compared to other decent backup services.
The display during ongoing executions of backup/restore plans can be improved. Particularly, I found the restore plan status a bit lacking ("Waiting for retrieval job completion"), and would appreciate a bit more verbose status (especially since this is taking a few tens of hours!). On the other side - the backup plan status was richer with numbers, like completion percentage, overall remaining time, bandwidth etc... but the numbers didn't always made sense for me, and I couldn't get a crisp picture regarding the progress of the backup plan.
I've been using MSP360 Backup for backing up personal data from my personal home computer, including documents, photos, media and more. My configuration includes about 1TB of data, backed up to both local and remote (AWS S3) storage, and client-side encryption.
Save direct to Glacier reduces costs along with the archiving capability to reduce object numbers
Nothing in particular - very practical piece of software all in all in all in all
Photo backup
I've been using Cloudberry for about five years to back-up all my essential documents and photos to Amazon S3. It's been really easy to use and has always notified me when something in a back-up has failed. It’s always been very reliable throughout the time I’ve been using it. I’ve so far never had to restore anything using it, but navigating my files in my Amazon S3 bucket has always been very easy to do. I would recommend this whole heartedly.
I can’t say I’ve really had any issues with the software. It’s always just ticked by in the background. I was rather saddened that the encryption has now ended for free users, but there again, the company needs to make its money. I’ve dabbled with a few other backup programs for my Amazon S3 account, and I’ve always come back to Cloudberry. I’m happy to continue with it, even though it means switching from a free to paid user. This are only minor dislike as far as the software goes for me personally.
the easyest and fastest way to make hybridbackups in guide mode, also the reporting is very helpfull. you dont need to be and expert for make your backups
they dont send a message for updates , sometimes i get error when its on 2 or more task unfinished
Backupsoftware
Including Czech language. There are many options. Nice looking interface. Backup to many Cloud services.
Backup only to the local+cloud storage (not only local). Backup showing inaccurate time to the end.
When backup is working and I turn off computer - the time of full backup still running (not real time)
It offers a simple way to provide you some assurance that your pc is backed up and you don't have to worry you will lose everything to a random system crash or ransomware.
The user interface is a little old school, but it's effective and easy to figure out without needing much instruction.
I write software for a living and want to make sure I don't lost any of the work product that I create.
The product is intuitive to use and appears to work well for backing up my data to AWS. I haven't tested the restore process yet, but will soon
200 GB limit on free version. I would have rather had a temporary full use product instead as the backup was over the limit and the job is listed as "failed"
I needed a backup solution for my home PC
This is a solid backup solution. I have been using it since it was CloudBerry Backup and don't trust my data with any other product.
Honestly, I can't think of anything I would change about this software. It does everything I need it to, and there are even some more advanced features (such as VM backup) that I don't currently use.
I have beeen using MSP360 for home backup. I use Google Drive, but feel more comfortable knowing I have a local backup of my files as well. This helps me manage all of my backups in one place.
Easy way to backup my data to AWS S3 buckets, and do away with Command Line backup
So far, I haven't found anything I really dislike. The interface is pretty easy to follow.
Backing up sensitive data (medical) to S3 buckets
This is pretty much the best backup software out there. And to be honest that doesn't say much, because most of them are terrible. But this one gets the job done.
It's not free and open source, and the UI is a bit childish. It tries to hide logs from you and be clever.
CloudBerry is a very SOLID backup program that can actually save your life.
It is easy to use and is very reliable. Value for money 100%
I don't think there is anything to dislike about MSP360 (CloudBerry) BackUp.
The only thing I don't like is the change of the name... if that counts...
The software is easy to install and configure. There are many location you can backup to and restoring your data in a disaster is easy and quick.
There is not much i dislike from cloudberry backup. But one feature that would be nice is to add the google drive feature so we can backup simple user data to there already active accounts
We have tested several remote backup applications and this is undoubtedly the most complete and useful. There are other very good applications, but too technical and do not allow a "normal" user to use them.
The main thing about a backup application is that the security of the backup really works and saves the files. That is why it is essential to test from time to time to download a complete backup and prove that the files have been saved correctly. Other applications did not even complete the backup in the cloud because it took several days to finish. It obviously depends on the total size of the backup, but when it is not excessive, it should not take so long. That is not viable if you want to make daily backups.
With this application, however, we have been able to finish the backups and then make incremental backups every 4 hours.
For us it is very important that you can make a backup in the cloud directly to avoid duplicating disks. For any company that does not have resources to buy specific harwadre for backups, it is vital.
As with all software, there are things that can be improved and for that the versions were invented. There are some errors that should not happen, for example, backup of empty folders may fail and it is an error that they already know but is not fixed.
Another thing we don't like is that it doesn't take advantage of all the available bandwidth if we're doing a remote backup. Although it is also true that other applications have the same problem.
As for the backup of open files, it does not finish working at all. For example, Thunderbird files, if it is open it always gives an error, so to make a good backup, you must first close the application and then it is done correctly.
The price of the different versions is shocking. Why limit the total backup space of the paid versions, if they do not provide the space and need an external provider like AWS S3? I don't quite understand why you should buy the Ultimate version to have unlimited space.
We wanted to make backup copies outside the offices. Now we can rest assured making backup copies of local mail and documents.
I'm using CloudBerry + BackBlaze this week and I'm really impressed. I installed on a Linux Dedicated server, CentOS6 with WHM. I am using the web interface to manage everything. I also installed the Windows version on my computer to access BaclBlaze Buckets and do local restores. I am really satisfied. I want to stop using R1 Backup and use this CloudBerry + BackBlaze combination.
A single feature for selecting the file version during the restore process is not available in the web interface.
Change my actual R1Backup to CloudBerry + BackBlaze solution
The range of options and flexibility with which it allows me to manage my backups to my chosen services, safely and securely.
I particularly like the backup status notifications.
The vast range of options meant a bit of reading required to get the best of out of it.
It helped me backup my data to Onedrive, avoiding the need to use the limited, annoying and unstable Onedrive app.
I've tried a variety of alternative backup apps and no others gave me the options and flexibility i needed. I can include the folders i want, to the backup format and structure i desire without having to confirm to the rigid requirements of my online storage provider. Cloudberry also allows me to schedule my backups to the night time thus preserving my bandwidth for my daily work and streaming. I particularly like the ability to encrypt my backups, and also include ransomware protection.
I have the activity notifications pushed to my Pushover mobile client so i can easily keep an eye on my backups without having to login into my PC.
Although i'm happy with using Cloudberry with Onedrive (free storage provided with my MS Office 365 subscription, i appreciate the range of online providers it can work work, so will likely try the AWS and google storage options later.
I did have to do a bit of reading to navigate the many options, but the built in help guide and information on the cloud berry website helped me get along.
Its a great value product considering its features and ability, and well worth buying.
It came recommended by a sever admin friend of mine who uses Cloudberry both at work and at home.
Highly recommended for home users and enthusiasts alike.
I have used Cloudberry for a while now and I feel like I have very secure backups that I can rely on. I have used many products over the years and I believe that Cloudberry is the best.
Nothing at all I feel it is a complete product. I am also impressed with the updates to this product.
The software is easy to use and the encryption helps give you that piece of mind, the best backup software out there.
It times it can be a little clunky with all of the options/features available but after talking looking at the FAQ it helps to clarify them.
Easy to setup but I think the interface (GUI) looks a bit old like windows XP etc. The overall GUI needs a rework to modern software out there, but still its good. I like the the most of the Windows Image Based backup and you can choose the destination easily. The Desktop edition has those MS SQL server etc. that you do not really need on the tool menu, why? But anyway its a good product to do basic backup for your Windows machine. The best part is the the ability to backup so many different ways your files.
As I said it looks a bit old (GUI) and why there is this SQL server etc stuff on the tool menu when you using the Desktop Edition. I would like to see as an option to choose different skins and colors, layout for this tool. I would like to see dark theme :D Not this typical Windows blue color. Oh totally forgot that one thing I don't like is the price of this tool. I think its a bit too much just to use backup tool without any storage. You could partner with some one with storage to get the price down? Just a hint :D
I love the speed with which this software works when creating backup copies, regardless of whether they come from really large files, and that it is capable of creating differential backups and continuously makes it a very versatile software since in at any time, your platform collapses when this process is carried out, besides the one that provides a totally effective attention is advantageous since any doubt is answered immediately, I also like the one that is capable of integrating with other platforms, given that this allows to establish a schedule so that backup copies can be synchronized at any time in the cloud.
I do not like the one that provides a limited data deduplication, also its configuration is not entirely simple because to understand it the best is to go to read carefully your frequently asked questions or go to your support team if you have any questions.
This software has been very useful because thanks to it we have a much simpler backup of the information and, at the same time, we can focus on other activities without worrying about valuable data and information, since it is backed up and secure against any ransonware, also its integration with other software are really advantageous since in case of any disaster, recovering the information will be much faster.
First, the price is not that bad, second, it's really easy to backup to a local disk or cloud solution... This software has saved me too many times in many disasters I had in the past years.
About support, I had one problem and they contact me to help me out, they did, so I am really grateful that I am using this software across 8 of my servers.
The only thing is, you need to create a bootable USB before your computer crashes, if you didn't make a bootable disk and your computer crashes, you will have some trouble making one and recover everything.
Is a system that could save you a lot of time and money, a tool that helps you to take backups of your server Microsoft SQL Server, store it on the web you can choose which storage system in the cloud will save, in a single Administration console presents detailed information and ordered from your backups and history. We could make configurations hour by hour, daily, weekly, monthly backups making our own programming according to the needs. The real-time backup allows you to back up files and folders in Windows Server on the change or creation also made statistics of the backup plan programmatically and use the command line interface to integrate the backup with our routines. We configure the personalized email notification function to follow each execution of your backup and restore the plans remotely or which was very useful in the day-to-day tasks.
no mobile application, no attached storage space,It's a little Complex ,this was not decisive because in general it is very good product.
Definitely made it easier for us every day with the oranization of the tasks I highly recommend this product.
The installation and setup was relatively straightforward. Useful for someone to start from cloudberry explorer and experience the benefits the backup software brings. A strong point of the suite is the capability to do very sophisticated filtering and allow very fine tuned level of details for what files to be backed up. I have not tested the encryption and compression efficiency of this product as I'd like to some ability to manually pick up files from the backup archive. Note I'd expect this would not matter too much if you are predominantly backing up compressed media anyway.
I did spend a bit of time quite a lot of time troubleshooting the issue with not being to sign in initially and it would prompt also with an error if ur account is with 2FA but if you continue that will work out fine. This is not intuitive enough as I thought I might have to fall back to simple username password which I am very hesistant to do. Finally I resorted to the sign in issue from the error log where the project ID will have to be explicitly listed. More useful if it prompts for the project ID or even having a scroll box to select which one to make the sign on bullet proof.
I was initially using cloudberry explorer and later identified it is too trivial and tedious to keep track of which folder has new files that will need backup and whether there are new subfolders that will need to be backed up and render the whole soln not that practical. I found out cloudberry backup from the banner on the explorer page and started using a very straightforward and intuitive solution. It is good such a solution was provided as now it's becoming virtually maintenance free.
versatile interface, user friendly, easy to setup, integrates really well with B2 cloud
price of ultimate version too high in my opinion. Too many different versions of the software and the limit of 1T upload to cloud is not great, should be 5T minimum
The application was easy to set up and handle and did what I expected it to do. Some people disliked the interface, but I found it useful and intuitive. I particularly like the variety of options and parameters you can set for backups and restores, including the possibility to limit bandwidth consumption, and the possibility to have a hybrid backup (first have it stored locally, then to the cloud) to speed up things. After a short test, I decided to buy it.
None of the issues caused me to doubt buying the Pro version, but there are some items I disklike:
- I was very much pleased to see the ransomware protection in the version I originally installed, just to find out that in the latest version, it was discontinued. I find that a pity, as ransomware is one of my key concerns. I know there are ways to deal with it otherwise, but I would have liked to have that feature, also in order to get an early warning.
- The interaction with Cloud backup (AWS Glacier) is slow, which means that the application is also not very responsive whenever I need something from the Cloud.
- I am somehow not able to see file backups created with other software, but maybe this is my mistake.
- Authentication with IAM did not work, also this is the recommended method for AWS Glacier.
- I would have liked the ability for drag and drop restore, from the Cloud, but that may eventually not be possible because the Cloud storage may be too slow to respond.
CloudBerry Backup is an excellent software and a great tool for obtaining an effective and safe backup of all my most important files, allowing me the possibility of storing it in my favorite storage place like Amazon S3, Amazon Glacier, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Storage. It has a simple, graphic and pleasant interface that makes it easy to use and configure.
until now I do not find any feature that I dislike, since all the inconveniences that may have presented with its use have been effectively solved by its support team that is incredible.
As a software programmer I manage a large amount of very important information and with the implementation of this software CloudBerry Backup I feel much more secure since all my information is backed up by a very efficient backup.
Easy backup - set up the folders you want to backup and CloudBerry takes care of the rest.
They've changed business models and now demand a 200GB limit on private users, which isn't that much.
CloudBerry backup is a veru easy to use software, with a straightforward GUI, that works very well and helps to protect you important data.
Should have more connectors to cloud services, but they are coming in time. Sometimes notification emails are not working.
Simple to use and to configure, comes with good backup options like image or folder copy.
Had some issues getting it to work on an AD controller waiting to hear back from support to see if there is a simple solution, but tried everything online to no avail.
The tool is very flexible, it supports a lot of various cloud storage providers as well as traditional options such as local storage, network shares and FTP servers.
Backup versioning policies are sufficient but could be more sophisticated. For instance, it would be helpful to have separate frequencies for different time frames, i.e. I'd like to keep each version of file for a latest 30 days, then one daily version for the next 30 days, then one weekly version for the next 90 days etc.
I use Cloudberry backup both at home(desktop version) and at work(Hyper-V backup version). It performs very well providing us a peace of mind when we are sure that our critical data are backed up to several cloud storage endpoints.
Desktop version I use at home also performs very well providing real-time file backup.
Ease of use, super intuitive, options galore.
If you've ever had the pleasure of using Backup exec way back in the day and were to the point of pulling your hair out then this IS NOT THAT!
I found Cloudberry Backup to be the simplest backend for backing up the cloud on the market, even for backing up locally too. Heck if you want to save some backups locally, say 5 days, then migrate the rest to the cloud for say 30 and then save one monthly for a year you can do that pretty easy peasy!
Want to do block or incremental backups with a hard backup say every 3 days and only retain the current incremental after a hard, you can do that. Need to keep an entire machine image and restore from the cloud? No problem, need to make it bootable from USB, just click it!
Cloudberry is probably THE most cost effective BU software I've ever used but by far THE MOST robust!
Haven't asked it to do anything that it couldn't so far, I'm really quite hard to please when it comes to being satisfied with ANY software but Cloudberry has kind of left me feeling like I got the better end of the deal!
Keeping some backups locally and sending the rest to the cloud with retention policies. It also saved storage by compression and met regulations and peace of mind by encrypting on the fly.
No more worries of "did it finish" or "will it restore"
Can't reccommed this enough, once you try it and see the price you'll be wondering why you weren't using it sooner!
I moved from a competing backup software vendor when they changed their billing engine and simply deleted my 10tb backup
It is a little expensive for the full feature set. So writing this review will apparently help me drop the cost down a little. Butin saying that it is a once off cost and backups are critical for my home and business data.
Regular backups of windows and linux machines
Good number of features and ability to backup to S3. Backing up to SAN and then to S3 is useful.
Had some issues to begin with but support was very helpful. They responded quickly.
I like the ability to backup to various vendor solutions, from Amazon S3 to a local NAS (my primary usage, but there are lots of other vendors available). Scheduling is flexible and works with a wide variety of parameters.
The large amount of flexibility can overwhelm a new user a bit. Many options to choose, though the basic selection options upon initial use of the software should be fine for the basic user.
VERY FAST, ACCURATE, EFFICIENT, AND SAFE--VERY EASY TO CONFIGURE A BACKUP-VERY EASY TO RESTORE A BACKUP--TERRIFIC SUPPORT
there is nothing to dislike--EVERYTHING FUNCTIONS EFFICIENTLY--GREAT SUPPORT IS THERE IF YOU NEED IT.
I USE IT TO BACK UP ALL MY WORK PRODUCT--CLOUDBERRY RATES A 20 ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 10
I like that it supports a great range of cloud services, advanced backup features, good interface,
Nothing so far
Encryption, Backup Plans, Scheduling, File level restore, significant documentation and customer support
There is a bit of a learning curve during the initial setup but the documentation helps. Only slightly annoying thing during the trial phase is the number of emails to "see how things are going." I'll attribute that to wanting to ensure a good experience with the software.
CloudBerry Backup is an incredible software for data backup. since it is the perfect combination of a dynamic interface that makes it easy to use, efficiency, flexibility, backup of files, images and hybrids to even the server, with many storage destinations to which you can connect, including popular services such as Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, Backblaze and OneDrive, among other features. It is important to note that it is not the typical backup solution in the cloud, but a backup control center that works with cloud storage providers, which makes it really fantastic.
Until now I do not find any negative characteristics of which I should complain about this great software, since being a professional in the area, I had no inconvenience when installing it, configuring it and making my respective backup copies. although I recommend downloading the free trial version before acquiring the license of CloudBerry Backup, because although it is true that it is an excellent software without doubts, it is better to verify if it adapts to the needs of the user who implemented it
since I started to implement CloudBerry Backup in my work routine I am much calmer since I know that if at some point I get to present a failure, I can recover all my information without any inconvenience thanks to this great software. I needed an easy, affordable and reliable solution for the backup of my data and I found it without any doubt.
I like that i has the ability to connect to multiple sources, amongst them Amazon Glacier
I struggled a bit to get the connection to Amazon Glacier set up, but when it was set up, it worked great.
I am using CloudBerry Backup to ta backup of images, documents and videos.
I like that this solution lets me backup to whatever backup provider I like and that it has really tight integration. I used all of my free download quota on Backblaze and instead of "sorry somthing went wrong" I got the exact issue!
A tad complicated, but that was because I chose the "advanced" option as I wanted to be very specific with how my backup worked. And really it was as easy as it could be. My biggest issue is the 50% discount for submitting a review, it kinda feels like people will leave good reviews just to get the discount OR won't have experienced issues yet so the review is more likely to be positive but not much substance (this review!)
backups!
It is incrible that allows you to create backup copies of files or folders that are in our computers doing it very safely and quickly, allowing us to choose who we want to back them up in the cloud or in a local storage everything depends on the user's choice for what I consider to be a really flexible software, besides the fact that this in several versions makes it much easier to meet the needs of each person and the best thing is that all these copies are controlled by each one of us it is as well as if we want to recover said files we do it when we want.
Its configuration can be somewhat confusing, there should be some guide that indicates its use or functions, however when you go to your support team you solve this problem, but in the same way it is a software that can still scale in its features and interface.
It has been very useful because I can create backup copies from my computer to the server in the cloud of my choice, being I who carries out its control and that if I need them I can go to them at any time, that is why I keep myself Quiet because of failure of my team I have everything backed up and ready to be recovered in a very fast and safe way and that it is better that I also manage my passwords and the backup schedule.
Reliable - not only does it report on successful backups, total storage used etc. on a daily basis, but hasn't failed to backup any of our files over the last 3 years, and has successfully restored files every since time we've use it.
The application has been regularly updated over the years, adding support for more Cloud Hosting providers, and offering additional functionality, including various methods to capture the backups beyond the original Volume Shadow Copying approach.
The latest versions also include Encryption and Ransomware protection prior to both the encryption in transit and the encryption at rest that your preferred cloud hosting provider may choose to use.
Previously the software was a little slow and sluggish to use, but over the years CloudBerry Labs have continued to update and improve their software so these issues doesn't exist anymore.
We did encounter a small problem following a disaster that we got this software specifically to protect us against - the hard drive in our computer that was being backed up crashed, and required replacement. After installing a brand new hard drive, we tried to install the software and restore files, to find that our serial number was not accepted as it had already been activated. Fortunately a quick e-mail to support, and the license was released within 24 hours for reactivation. In the meantime we were able to restore our files using the 14 day free-trial that comes with the software when you download it and use it for the first time meaning that we weren't affected by this, but it could have been nicer.
Desktop file backup to Azure Blob Storage
I have used Cloudberry backup to backup my former employers file server data and exchange, its easy and allows for many different type of storage providers. Its quick and easy! Restores were no issues. I am looking at them to be an option for my personal backup solution.
I don't like the backup storage cap put in place., we had to purchase the unlimited option with in days of configuring our backup service.
Just finishing evaluating and testing CloudBerry Backup in my environment and I believe we have a winner here. Test backups and restores have worked flawlessly to multiple cloud providers, as well as to a local target. What sets CloudBerry apart from the competition is the vast number of cloud service providers supported out of the box.
The software is reasonably priced. I'm not a fan or the artificial backup size limit imposed in an effort to upsell a more expensive license.
Works with multiple cloud systems including Amazon, Azure, Google, Backblaze, Wasabi etc
Nothing so far. It has proven to be a very flexible backup client tool. Very worthwhile.
The CloudBerry Backup has solved for me a problem with backing up a partition with a large number of files (500k+) to my OneDrive business account. The native Windows OneDrive Business client couldn't cope with the number of files, but CloudBerry Backup uploaded everything seamlessly over a couple of days.
I like the product's reliability, granularity of settings, and possibility of backup to all major cloud providers.
The consumption of system resources (RAM) when dealing with a lot of files and live backup. Not really a disadvantage though for modern PCs with plenty of RAM.
I intend to use CloudBerry Backup for live backup of my work partition.
Support for pre-internet encryption (PIE) as well as the ability to combine lots of small files into 1 GB split archives to save on transaction costs.
With version 5.9.4.245, if you're utilizing a cold storage solution (e.g. Amazon Glacier or Azure Archive Tier) you might need to use the Freeware mode
for restore instead of the Restore Only mode to restore your encrypted files on an another machine.
If you're looking for an off site backup solution to the cloud with encryption and a support team behind it ensuring a smooth ride, look no further!
I needed a backup solution that worked with Microsoft Azure and this one works. It was very easy to set up and use.
Nothing that I can think of yet. This was one of the few backup solutions that worked with Azure.
Wasn't having much luck finding an affordable backup solution for linux and windows desktop systems. Also had difficulties getting other solutions to work with Wasabi. Cloudberry allowed us to easily configure what appears to be a reliable utility thus far!
The only downside for a small user like myself is that there is a different license and software needed for each operating system and computer. Since we have several machines with different operating systems, we ended up needing to purchase multiple licenses even though we are only using one of those machines at any given time with the same data.
I like the level of costumisation it offers. You can do so many things, back up to your local storage or directly to the cloud.
Sometimes it can get very complex, its not 5 seconds setup, but after you explore it a bit it becomes second nature
Compatible with ALL cloud providers. It is the only one I could find that backs up to IBM Cloud
Trial is too limited I would like to ccompress the data but that is not an option on the Trial version.
Backing up to the cloud, like I said I can backup to virtually any cloud provider
Does encrypted backup to backblaze of our NAS which is exactly what I wanted. Hard to complain.
Setup could be easier - a few items I had to google to get it set up and automated. Was up and running in under 2 hours though.
Easy to navigate both local and remote folders and also easy to set up and schedule backups. Regularly updated and improved. More reliable and better featured than other products I have tried.
I have found nothing to dislike, it's an excellent product that does what I want.
Backup important files to cloud storage.
It its very easy to use two destination for my backup. I use a USB device and cloud (Onedrive)
It is missing an encryption feature for the backupset that we send to OneDrive. I use MFA to authenticate to office 365 so i mitigate the risk of someone hacking my Microsoft account
I purchased this product because i wanted to backup my data to office365 Onedrive.
Creating a backup is really easy and then setting it to run automatically on a schedule is the peace of mind I need to maintain my backups current.
The Preemium option is limited to 200GB of data storage to the Cloud Storage which is kinda low considering the type of documents and images that we manage. It made absolute sense upgrading to the Pro version.
Cheapest and better than Backblaze and Crashplan. Total control and a lot of possibilities.
Not for now. I'm tryind and works fine for me. You need to try too.
Great Google Cloud integration.
I use it to back up to my azure account using CloudBerry Drive. It was simple to set up and now it just works.
There is nothing yet that I dislike abut this product. Just filling in here to reach the max character limit.
That it has all the back up settings I need and easily integrates with the cloud. Access can be controlled directly in the software, back ups can be encrypted and compressed, resource usage controlled, etc. A good all-around back up software solution.
When creating a new back up plan for a location that already has backed up files it is slow to perform the initial back up as it analyses all the already backed up files.
Used to use servers local to each office for back ups, but that is very cumbersome and requires a lot of hands on maintenance. CloudBerry Back Up streamlines the whole process so that you only have to worry about the easy initial setup.
I like that cloudberry is simple to use, we have implemented it with local storage and cloud storage in the form of Backblaze B2. We found it was simple enough to use for our non IT professional staff to implement, and therefore significantly undercut other cloud storage options on price.
We implement the Desktop Pro version of the software to backup our network storage and at $50 +VAT this was by far the cheapest easiest to implement software package for this purpose.
There is no obvious way to physically talk to a sales representative or support staff other than through a webmail based interface I feel that this level of integration even if only available for the higher price point products would give us as a company a reason to upgrade to the more expensive product, even though we wouldn't be able to utilise most of the services, as customer support is something we value heavily.
We have been using cloudberry to backup to local and cloud storage (Backblaze B2) for a local machine and NAS and its integration and usability have been superb. It has allowed me, a relative IT luddite to be able to backup, create versioning, encrypt and safeguard our data.
I have been looking for a software like this for a while. It was easy to set up and use. I feel so much better having this in place.
The pricing is also very reasonable for a sole proprietor like myself.
Nothing that I can think of yet. I'm still just learning to use it. But already it has solved a major headache for me.
As a professional photographer, I need as many ways as I can to make sure that my client's work is accessible. The amount of data I have is getting more and more massive. Cloudberry is another arrow in my backup quiver.
great value, great product, been using it for a few years now...
highly recommended...
great value, great product, been using it for a few years now...
highly recommended...
very simple to use, it didn't take long to figure it out and set up a few backup jobs
as of right now i can't say any thing bad about this software. It does everything I need
simplicity and one time license model. The free tier also make it a very good value for home use
difficult to manage and see your storage usage, but with the latest version they have given us a Storage report funtion
Cloudberry is used just about everywhere in my day to day projects... Local for basic backup and cloud for more important stuff. The problem of these convoluted software that wasn't easy to use. Cloudberry help mi simply all that in a simple to use yet powerful app
The product is integrated with many cloud vendors and very easy to use.
I'm using it to backup my photos and videos to the cloud, as they're very important assets of mine.
Setup was very easy and simple.
Nothing in particular that I noticed. I'm using it for almost two weeks and it covers my needs very well.
setup wizard did it all, took only five minutes, options were clear and navigable. program has great features (like ransomware protection) and granular feature selection
really there is nothing to dislike. the product does what it is supposed to do. it's mature. the cloudberry help desk is very responsive.
backup of massive amount of files
With Azure Archive Blob, I'm able to backup more then 1TB of data for almost nothing!
NAS and Cloud so I can retrieve my files locally.
I also like that I'm able to create multiple backup plan, I good alternative to Crashplan plan and a lot cheaper.
No real time backup monitoring with hybrid backup.
If not familiar with Azure, need some time to setup
It is very simple to setup backup plans and to see the status of them. Daily I get emails about problems with the backups which helps me fix problems.
If a network drive is not mounted, it won't mount the drive for me. I have to mount it and then restart the backup.
Backup of 3 TB of Real Estate Transaction files.
Very easy interface and packed with extra features, such as encryption and compression, which we never thought of during our research.
We have no problems with it. We were using it almost immediately after watching a few short Youtube videos.
We've always taken data backup warnings with a grain of salt. But after a catastrophic hardware failure, we were looking for some automation software for Amazon Glazier cloud backups. Extensive research led us to Cloudberry Backup which fit our needs perfectly.
Cloudberry is my go to application that gets me both on premise and cloud based backups through a single application. Cloudberry gives you full control over your security by allowing you to maintain control of your encryption keys which is important from a security standpoint. It also integrates extremely well with all major cloud providers to easily get your data secured and stored offsite to help protect yourself in the event of a major disaster (fire, flood, theft) etc. The level of control over the backup settings need nothing wanting, and best of all, unlike some of its competitors, its incredibly easy and intuitive to figure out, with only moderate knowledge of cloud security you will be up and running in no time.
Nothing to report here! Cloudberry does everything that I've required of it and more.
I use cloudberry to keep my most critical data secure through offsite, encrypted backups. I rest assured knowing I am protected from any kind of outage, not just physical hard drive issues but also theft, fires, floods or other disasters. Having my data in Backblaze B2 means I don't have to worry about unreadable tapes or malfunctioning disks at time of restore. Its a great feeling knowing you are protected.
I tried other Windows desktop backup options but none worked. Had used CB S3 browser before and tried the backup pro. Works perfectly and highly recommended.
Unlike other solutions I have tried, Cloudberry Backup is easy to use. Inexpensive to buy. The interface is very intuitive.
Nothing so far. Have not used the restore/retrieval function but I expect that it will work.
Really useful back-up solution and works well with AWS . Cloudberry Backup works very well with lots of cloud services such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. CloudBerry Backup has disaster recovery to virtual machines
still trying to figure that out . No centralized management. Backup software with no service component. Additional server options are pricey.
This software has a ton of advanced options meant for someone familiar with IT. The freeware version is pretty great by itself, and cloud backups using your own Amazon S3 or other cloud storage services is so much cheaper than the services bundled with most other backup software subscriptions.
The UI could use some work. Not all options are explained terribly well, but the power that comes with those options is exceptional.
The tool works well for sending backups to the cloud or local + cloud, and you can also schedule tests of the backups.
The backup itself has everything you'd want for files: compression, encryption, scheduling, retention policy, and incremental backup. If your connection cuts out or your machine reboots part-way through a backup, you can simply resume it. The software handles cleaning up the partial bits.
The instructions for creating the appropriate permissions on the cloud providers could be clearer. I had to search for (slightly outdated) videos as to how to set up Azure.
The vendor is giving discounts for reviews (including this one).
I only tried file backup to local+Azure and to Azure alone. The backup was made against approximately 200GB of data, with files ranging from little index files in source control to multi-gigabyte drive image backups.
I love the product's flexibility with multiple cloud storage options, multiple restore options, pre/post actions for backup (very nice for laptops which need to check for example if i connected to my home wifi before an attempt is made to backup to my NAS storage).
Very good security with end to end encryption and compression options.
Over all you will get a great value for your money.
Pros:
- Great value for your money. For so much options you don't pay a lot.
- Flexible! Great options for backup and restore just as you like.
- Multiple Cloud providers
- Security implemented well (According to Steve Gibson on Security Now).
Although there are many options for cloud providers, i still would love to see more options of home user cloud providers such as Mega, Pcloud etc.
It's nice that the company's focus is on professional cloud providers, but i think that for the Desktop version it could be great if the home users have more personal user cloud choises.
Mostly for image backup, but also for files.
I was looking for a good snapshot (block level) image backup that i can easily encrypt, compress and store on multiple backend options (such as NAS and cloud).
- Easy to setup. I used with Backblaze and Amazon Glacier and worked very well
- Works with many backup cloud services
In general, there is nothing to dislike. Perhaps, the options are better explained.
Good features, and fast support. Frequent updates assures me that they will keep this software working for a long time
very complicated method of syncing to the cloud if you already have synced files before
Backup files/photos and email files. Have lots of files in multiple folders and this software seems to have the strength
I like its simplicity and ease of use. also its speed and scalability, another thing that I like is its user interface well organized and transparent to the user.
In principle they should implement it as a service or if it were optional, when the system should be loaded, minimized and transparent to the user, I use it for my real-time client with amazon s3, I do not see any more updates I can suggest.
I like a lot of the cloud integration capability, it's very easy to maintain a local backup as well a backup in the cloud (in my case in Glacier)
The restore features is very useful as well, is very easy to find a file ans restore it.
I'm using the free version until now, and you can use a plenty of features.
I'm using the product for a short time for personal backup and I liking the product so far. I wish I could used the compact function on the free version but it's available only on the paid version.
For me is important to make a local backup but at the same time I need to have a cloud backup for an extreme loss situation. The software have a feature to do that automatically
The product is fully featured including image based backups. It's very light weight and does the job.
Not much to dislike accept that it would be nice to be able to restore even very old image files without an installed agent.
Easy to use, beginner friendly. Was able to setup backup for disc image to B2 servers through seamless integration.
No complaints so far. Hopefully they will add support for additional cloud services like Sync.com.
Backing up personal files, disc image, and project folders.
It's easy to use and works really great. It is a very fast cloud data. I used to use Crashplan and I really like cloudberry so far.
So far, I dislike nothing. It is a great backup program. The only thing is that the free version only allows 200 gig.
Ease in setting up for S3
Ease in setting up what to backup
Encryption and ransomware protection
The spiffy image backup is not explained so it was not clear what incremental backups would be like.
Took a long time for initial backup despite the fact that I have fast internet.
It works seamlessly with Google Drive and the price is reasonably cheap considering what's offered
I don't dislike anything CloudBerry Cloud Backup, it has solved all of my back up needs
I'm a refugee from CrashPlan. I like that I can choose my storage provider for backups and can easily backup to more than one online storage providers. While this review is for the non-profit with a Windows desktop client I would not have used CloudBerry if they didn't also have a Linux client (which I use on my personal computers)
Not much to dislike. It is feature rich enough for my needs. I would like to see deduplication feature on the desktop client.
I like the flexibility of being able to choose a storage supplier. I also like that there is a Linux version, although I've not yet tried that.
I would like to be able to select the backup file set without having to go through the whole backup setup process each time.
I have only been using it a short time, but it has been easy to set up and crate both a local backup to a NAS and an online backup to OneDrive.
It had a simple wizard which asked the relevant questions, and was set up in less than 5 minutes.
The ransomware protection also seems to be a great idea, and will protect my Documents from being encrypted.
There are a lot of settings and it doesn't always explain them well. Some popups next to the options would help.
I needed a way to create bootable backup on local storage with a version uploaded to the cloud to ensure maximum protection from drive failures.
