The speed of BigQuery has no comparison. It's absolutely insane how quickly we are able to query multi-terabyte tables--even when performing aggregations or statistical functions
I'm not a huge fan of the interface and it's seemingly silly limitations (like only being able to export up to 10MB resultsets).
In one line, it's a wonderful tool. It does exactly what it says, and does that astonishingly well. We have been using this for almost 3 years now. And never have faced any issues, barring a few minor ones, that too quite occasionally. Running funnel-like queries on datasets containing more than a billion records usually completes within 10-20 seconds. Running simple count queries takes less than a second or two. Pricing is exactly how a SaaS vendor would love to have. It's based on data stored and data scanned during query executions. You don't have to manage any machines, neither do have to pay for them. You only pay for what you use. We have evaluated a few other alternatives as well, some hosted ones, other, on-premise. None of them came even distant close to BigQuery's performance. Coming to cons, we really haven't found any. Earlier, around 3 years back, updates and deletes to data were not supported, but they are now very well supported, although with restrictions. This makes sense too as BigQuery is meant to be a data-warehousing solution, not OLTP alternative. So give this a try. You'll be surprised at it's performance :)
