Keeper Review

Editors' Review by the Password Management Software Review Team

Keeper is a cybersecurity software solution that aims to protect users from security breaches and data leaks. It’s trusted by millions of people and thousands of businesses. With its proprietary zero-knowledge security architecture, configurable roles and admin privileges, individuals and businesses alike can enjoy the pros of a market-leading solution. It’s basically a cloud-based security software solution that offers several features such as multi-tenant password management and fully-featured security functionalities.

A key advantage of Keeper is that it is a highly scalable and flexible security platform designed to meet various industry and organization size requirements. It’s perfect for a diverse audience—a single-user entrepreneur, a family of four or even a small workforce in the corporate world. Whichever the case, Keeper is equipped to handle security-related inconveniences.

Keeper Features

Keeper’s features are said to be best-in-class security, which is a huge factor as to why more businesses choose it compared to other options. With its integrated tools, users can protect passwords, keep personal information intact, offer unlimited storage and provide an encrypted vault.

Password management

One of the most commonly sought-out features from Keeper is password management, which provides users with sole access to their master password and key. As such, only they can encrypt and decrypt their information. This works through a variety of additional sub-features, such as Data Key, Client Key and more. Ultimately, all passwords, encrypted and decrypted data are found in the vault that only you can access.

Network architecture

What this feature entails is for localized data privacy and geographic segregation to assist users in hosting and operating the Keeper software solution and architecture. Users can now enjoy a series of additional tools under this feature. These include server authentication, transport layer encryption, key pinning, cross-site scripting attack protection, and more.

Responsive support

The Keeper software solution also has an extensive IT team capable of addressing client issues and complaints. 24/7 responsive support is given to business customers from dedicated support specialists. If you have any difficulties in navigating the interface, they are there to assist you in the learning process.

Vulnerability reporting

This feature is critical in ensuring users are well-informed about the state and performance of their business. This means being responsible and knowledgeable of potential security issues, such as compliance acts and disclosure policies. It also means users should be practicing security within the limitations of the law.

What this feature does is it encourages responsible security testing and disclosure of security vulnerabilities. Users can then avoid violating privacy, harming users, disrupting systems and destroying data. If you have any issues regarding such, you can always contact Keeper’s support team.

Keeper Benefits

Device agnostic

One of the main benefits users can enjoy from Keeper is its compatibility with several devices. Since it’s cloud-based, you can use the software across as many devices as made possible on the pricing plan you opt for. This means you can include desktops, laptops, smartphones and all web browsers under the same authorized account.

Any changes in one device will reflect across others as well. This allows for an updated and consistent flow of information to pass through the system. Additionally, this means you can keep track of the devices that are connected to the system. Any unknown sources or breaches can therefore easily be identified.

Centralized administration

Thanks to a “zero memory system,” users now benefit from a centralized administration. This means the personal details of a user cannot be accessed through any other devices except their own. As such, this allows for enhanced data security and safer single-user experience. This benefit is also strengthened by additional tools such as two-way and fingerprint verifications. Furthermore, it also extends to smart watches, smartphones and other personal smart devices.

Safe and secured data

Keeper prevents security breaches and data loss in your daily usage. Since its features include password management, user provisioning, and two-factor authentications, it becomes difficult for any unwanted person to hack into your system. Additionally, 256-bit AES encryption is also used, which encrypts your sensitive electronic data and makes it easier to resists any attacks from the outside.

Keeper Pricing

Keeper offers different pricing plans that can cater to several industries for a variety of uses. For example, if you’re looking for a security system to keep track of a few passwords, then you can always try Keeper’s free version for personal use only. Accordingly, millions of people use its security system as a precaution in protecting their passwords and keeping their information private.

The free version, which lasts 30 days, offers several key features. These include unlimited password storage, unlimited identity and payments, fingerprint and face ID login, unlimited devices and syncs and many more. It also has secure record sharing, emergency access, a web application and 24/7 support. On the other hand, if you plan to use Keeper for more advanced business use, its free trial period is lessened to 14 days.

Other than the free versions, Keeper offers the following pricing plans:

Individual

This pricing plan is straightforward. It’s meant for personal use and allows single users to safekeep their vital information. It costs $29.99 per user/year. Its notable features include unlimited storage for passwords, an unlimited number of devices, cloud backup, secured record sharing, live support and a web application. This is most especially helpful for those people who aren’t tied with other users and just want to keep track of their passwords.

Family

On the other hand, the family pricing plan is priced at $59.99 per year. This is already catered to five users annually. It has similar features to the individual plan, but it also has additional functionalities as well. These include a file storage that can reach up to 10 GB and login with fingerprint. This is helpful for family-sized groups. It also features KeeperChat Private Messenger, BreachWatch Dark Web Monitoring and Secure File Storage.

Business

Another pricing plan Keeper offers is the business plan which is priced at $30.00 per user/year. It works for businesses who wish to avail of the following features: encrypted vault for each user, folders and subfolders, shared team folders, security audit, activity reporting, team management and basic two-factor authentication.

Enterprise

The last pricing plan Keeper provides for its users is the enterprise one. It’s priced at $45.00 per year with its powerful and prominent features. These include single sign-on, automated team management, SCIM and azure AD provisioning, email auto-provisioning, command line provisioning and developer APIs for password rotation and backend integration.

Conclusion

Keeper is a popular and widely used cybersecurity solution by users who want to protect their passwords and in turn, crucial information. With the help of this solution, users can worry less about keeping track of their passwords and focus on optimizing business processes instead.

An enhanced security system paves the way for secured data and encrypted information. If a worst-case scenario happens, such as external parties hacking your system, then you can more than prepared with the help of Keeper. As aforementioned, the “zero memory system” lets the machine check the personal details of a user and will flag the access attempt if it’s not an accountholder’s personal device.

Overall, the Keeper software solution might be expensive for some. However, it does its job well by encrypting your data and securing your information in a safe place. With features like two-factor verification and importing/exporting tools, you can expect maximum protection against threats from unknown sources. If you’re looking for a market-leading solution for your business, then Keeper should be considered a top contender. It simultaneously manages passwords, improves productivity and meets compliance standards.

"Outstanding password manager"

What do you like about Keeper?

It's a simple and easy to use password manager, it doesn't have any extra fluff like others do and it's visible that their focused on offering higher security to the consumer. I really appreciate saying I have used their services for over 5 years and without a doubt will continue to do so.

What do you dislike about Keeper?

Sometimes, the mobile versions of keeper have some bugs. Mainly what I've noticed is that the KeeperFill on Android will sometimes not work correctly when trying to fill out text boxes for apps.

"Only remember 1 password"

What do you like about Keeper?

I don't need to remember all passwords of all websites or apps anymore, Keeper will known them for me. And now I can have different passwords for all my different websites and apps, which strenghtens security. I only need to remember 1 master password of Keeper.

What do you dislike about Keeper?

I get popups sometimes of extra Keeper services I don't want. Even when I already told that I don't want the extra services.

What have you been using it for and what problems did Keeper solve?

To remember my passwords, cross platform. Not only for me, but for my whole family.

"My password manager of choice"

What do you like about Keeper?

I was looking for a password manager to work on all my devices (iOS, Android, macOS and Windows) and supporting biometric login. Keeper has all that - as one of very few, it even supports Windows Hello, which makes it super easy to use for work.
I also like the Breachwatch alerting me if accounts wind up in breaches or the security audit that alerts me of weak passwords. Took some time to clean it all up, but it feels great when there is a big green checkmark :)

What do you dislike about Keeper?

It takes longer to unlock Keeper than other apps I've used. It is by no means a dealbreaker but I have to write something, so...

"A Must Have for Accountants, Bookkeepers, and Tax Professionals!"

What do you like about Keeper?

Being able to quickly retrieve login information, passwords, account numbers, and other information quickly reduces the time the client has to take away from doing what they do best just to provide the information I need when I need it.... Sometimes my client even calls me for an account number they know I have saved in my Keeper Vault!!!

What do you dislike about Keeper?

Nothing really, perhaps even when a member of the referral service, my subscription isn't complimentary.. I use mine as a visual aid when recommending to clients because it isn't much easier to see how it works when properly set up and fully utilized

What have you been using it for and what problems did Keeper solve?

Currently, I have 190+ records saved in my Keeper Vault. These include, but aren't limited to: website login IDs and passwords, account security question answers, account numbers, pics of bank cards, software license numbers, device serial numbers, product IDs, account recovery codes, client tax IDs and account numbers. Having everything immediately accessible with just my fingerprint whenever I need it saves time increases my clients confidence in my ability to meet their needs efficiently and effectively.

What do you like about Keeper?

Starting with the price to value Keeper is at the top of the heap. The ease of use is as friendly as it gets, even for us low tech folks. The fact that it automatically synchronizes across all platforms instantly is extremely important to me. I have recommended it to all my friends and most of them now use it.

What do you dislike about Keeper?

I haven't found any problem or feature I dislike or have a technical problem with. It always works. I have tons of passwords after being told NOT to use the same password on two sites. I can remember one easily.

What have you been using it for and what problems did Keeper solve?

I use it to store not only passwords but logins and information about the program or site etc. I am 75 and the memory is not so agile these days. Keeper gives me the confidence that I can access accounts, web sites, programs etc. with ease.

What do you dislike about Keeper?

Not a thing to dislike. The product is pretty good as is and doesn’t leave much room for improvement. I would like to see a flag whenever a potentially duplicate record is being created at the time of entry.

What do you like about Keeper?

My wife and I have been using Keeper for years. We both began as free users but after a year or so we upgraded to the paid plan. Since becoming a paid member, the service has been terrific and I couldn't be more proud of this software. They have been totally confidential with me and are great at creating passwords as well.

What do you dislike about Keeper?

I'm sorry but I have yet to find anything negative about Keeper. If I had to name one thing, I would say there is a limit to the number of times you can attempt to login successfully without being locked out, but it's sufficient for me.

What do you like about Keeper?

I am not one to have a lot of ongoing subscription fees, but this is one that I don't ever consider cancelling. I LOVE having all of my passwords on my phone (in my Keeper app!) and at my fingertips! I have a LOT of passwords for my 3 part-time jobs and the associated resources I use for my work. I just remember 1 password and Keeper does the rest!

What do you dislike about Keeper?

I am not sure how to come up with 80 characters about what I "dislike" about Keeper. There isn't anything!

What have you been using it for and what problems did Keeper solve?

I keep all of my passwords, pertinent personal information on my family members and the passwords to multiple personal accounts of all types. Before Keeper I had a notebook with all of my passwords in it and that was not safe at all! My husband told me all about Keeper and now we can share our records with each other via the app. That is amazing!

// Social Media Manager at DeeDee Creative

What do you like about Keeper?

I've been using Keeper for a number of years and have found it super easy to use. One password or fingerprint scanner to log in to access my numerous passwords. I gain peace of mind because I can't remember them all and I know they are locked away securely.

What do you dislike about Keeper?

There is honestly nothing I dislike about Keeper. It's so easy to use and I have found no need to try anything else.

What have you been using it for and what problems did Keeper solve?

Keeper helps me when I can't remember passwords. Instead of having to reset my password, I go into my Keeper App and there it is!

"Great for home and work use"

What do you like about Keeper?

Keeper is one of the most useful application for me. Not only it's available for Windows platforms but also MacOS and linux systems. I'm using it in a home and at work. Extremely important is the fact that keeper ( instead of other applications this type ) has well prepared extensions for all major web browsers such as: firefox, chrome, opera etc. You can fill the form with just one click. The keeper desktop application offers you more features than for example keypass. You can easily group you passwords into folders and you one account for work and another one for home use. In addition there's no need to search for password generators each time we're adding another credentials, keeper offers a feature (also on web browser extensions) which generate new password for you. I definitely recommend this product.

What do you dislike about Keeper?

- a little bit too expensive
- very average mobile layout
- lack of an Opera extension
- limited time for relogging

"Keeper is essential for my small business"

// Training Analyst at City of Salisbury, South Australia

What do you like about Keeper?

The feature that I like best about Keeper is being able to access it anytime, anywhere from any device - at the time that I need it.

I've used it for both work and personal use and recommend it to all my customers.

- I only have to remember one password - it only takes me a second to access any site.
- I have the ability to copy and paste a password without exposing the password to others to see.
- Keeper has a browser extension that allows me to save new site logins and passwords automatically.
- I like that I can sort passwords into Subjects or Folders, which is easier for organisation

What do you dislike about Keeper?

I would prefer the ability to make sub-folders under the main folder headings, but that is not a show-stopper - more of a personal preference really.

I think the pricing is reasonable, however, I think the personal licence should include two devices instead of just one.

What have you been using it for and what problems did Keeper solve?

- I love that I can attach files to a record. Example of use: saving a login and password for an insurance site allows me to keep images of my possessions attached to that site.

- I use Keeper's random password generator when I am signing up to a new site. This is so handy as I don't have to spend ages finding a password that conforms to organisational complexity.

- Business use: I keep my website domain hosting details in Keeper. Create a record, enter the login and password but also attach notes to the record such as renewal dates, which credit card I used to renew, domain lookup information.... pretty much anything I need to know about renewing my domain is cut and pasted into this record for easy access.

- Personal use: As I am a tech support for my family and friends, I have a folder for Mum, one for Dad, one for Best Friend etc. As they are all technophobic, i keep their logins and passwords as a backup so if they forget, they can just call me and ask.

"exceptionally useful for more than passwords"

// Senior Estimator at Performance POP

What do you like about Keeper?

example: I have one bank that requires 10 different verification options depending on how I log in. with Keeper, I have a tidy place and simple format of my choosing on how to store them with confidence

What do you dislike about Keeper?

I have not found any other app that works better, I keep trying new apps and updated old apps, and still love my Keeper. The fingerprint sign in could be faster than the 2 seconds it now takes, however this may be my phone and not the app.

What have you been using it for and what problems did Keeper solve?

I really like being able to sign in with my fingerprint instead of password, , the auto fill feature speeds me thru sign in's

My whole family from teenagers to 60+-year-old mother uses it. I use it in the office, at home, and on the go. I have hundreds of passwords securely saved that I can access easily from all my devices. I love that I can quickly generate new passwords and store new site information quickly and easily. I'd prefer a lower price point, but well worth the cost. I use keeper primarily for personal use.

What do you like about Keeper?

I love that keeper keeps all of my accounts, personal and business, safe. I love that I can connect all my devices to one account.

What do you dislike about Keeper?

With the amount that I have used the keeper app (about 1.8 years), I can't really say there is anything I dislike about the app except with the keeper keyboard when are wanting it to put in your password, it is a little tough to get it to let you go through your list instead of it choosing for you.

What do you like about Keeper?

Only one single password should be remembered. Works on all my devices: Windows, Android, iOS and has integration with web browser. Easy to use interface (folders, attachments), possibility to generate password with different levels of security (numbers, symbols, length).
Possibility to login using the fingerprint sensor on Android/iPhone.

What do you dislike about Keeper?

Waiting to Edge extension. Rearranging folded via drag/drop functionality would be very helpful.

"Password security sanity in a crazy online world."

// Director of Facilities at Baugo Community Schools

I'm the network administrator for a medium sized school system, and password security is absolutely essential. Keeper allows me to have unique, complex passwords for different systems and websites which makes my network more secure and my job a lot easier. Our infrastructure is largely built around Chrome-based devices, and the fact that I can access Keeper from any of them is invaluable. I'm also a big fan of the integration with the fingerprint reader on my Android phone. One touch and I can log into whatever site I need. The fact that Keeper also integrates with apps on the phone and not just websites is something that I use and appreciate on a daily basis.

There could be some refinement in a few areas, namely a dedicated wallet section to store payment information. I would also like to see fingerprint reader integration on devices like my laptop.

My only complaint would be that by default Keeper wants to remember my username. I use 2 factor authentication, so security is an obvious concern for me. Why would I want Keeper to remember my username? That needs to be changed. Overall, I am very happy with the product and will continue to use it over the other solutions out there.

// Director of Marketing and Business Development at Casa Vieja Lodge

Love this app and have been using it for about 3 years. They recently added a feature to add secure photos into different folders, thus allowing me to take photos of my credit cards and securely store them for easier access on the go. Customer service has always been easy for me to deal with. Not much bad to say about this app. I've recommended it to just about everyone I know. It's my central storage system for my life! "Can't be without Keeper"

// Fellowship Coordinator at Stanford University School of Medicine

I love the Keeper app. I can't be without it. I work in the healthcare industry and we have multiple different passwords for things that I would never remember just off the top of my head. The system has gotten better over the years. It used to not be user friendly but with time it has become easy to input password info. I feel there is still a lot of items I don't even touch on the app and don't really know how useful it is. For my needs though, it is perfect. I can't be without it.

"Exceptional Password Security and Easy to Use"

// Spiritual Director (Graduate Certificate) at Seeking the Spirit Within

I have been using Keeper for many years. It allows me to easily have 16-20 (or more if I wanted) character passwords, unique for each website I use, and I only have one master password to remember to get in Keeper. The set-up is simple and intuitive, and it is easy to use across my laptop, tablet, and smart phone.

It has worked flawlessly for me for the 8+ years I have used it so I have never had to use customer service. I think that makes their customer service about as excellent as it can be!

I am currently in the process of changing and lengthening my passwords as a general security measure, and Keeper is making the transition simple and efficient. I wouldn't go online without it for either business or personal use.
