Adobe Illustrator CC helps your creative ideas become reality

// Graphic Design Specialist at Boeing

What do you like about Illustrator CC?

I like the plug-in that Illustrator has. There are options for everything you want, some of them help me keep track of my working hours, some helps search for color themes and synchronize my account directly with Illustrator and so on. The interface is easily reset and customizable. Being able to navigate the program faster with your own custom layout for the toolbars really makes designing more fun and efficient.

What do you dislike about Illustrator CC?

The Illustrator is not very convenient if you just start working on it. It took some time to understand how it works, and I understand that I do not know all the possibilities. I had occasional glitches when working on some pretty complex projects, but there is a restore function that works just magically.

What have you been using it for and what problems did Illustrator CC solve?

Illustrator is used on a regular basis as part of our marketing and design strategy. We use it for print media, online content and company branding.

For Vector Graphics Illustrator is the beginning and the end

// Graphic Designer at Anthony Garcia

What do you like about Illustrator CC?

When I first bought Illustrator back in the day, I installed it on my new computer, opened it up, tried to draw something...and was completely stumped. What the heck was going on?! To someone who is unfamiliar with how vector graphics work Illustrator is impenetrable. But I took a class! and once I had a little direction as to how it works I was off to the races. It is an amazing program and you can do so much with it. Every logo I have drawn in the past 20 years has been in Illustrator. And so many other things. It's worth the initial hurdles you have to jump to understand it.

What do you dislike about Illustrator CC?

There were some keyboard commands that I got very used to and were extremely useful that got changed at some point in one of the version upgrades, and for some reason, I have never figured out the fix. I guess the reasoning is out there somewhere, and also the new way is there to be learned as well, but I keep working around it. I know the program well enough that it is only a slight setback. I'll figure it out one day. All that is to say that Illustrator is very complicated, and there are lots of ways to achieve the same outcome, so be careful to learn the best ways and be able to adapt, because at some point it is likely they will change something you love and you'll need to roll with it.

What have you been using it for and what problems did Illustrator CC solve?

I use Illustrator on a nearly daily basis to draw graphic elements and design logos. Whenever the graphics would benefit from being vector graphics I use Illustrator. the files are infinitely scalable and relatively small, so you can save your iterations without any problem. It is a great tool and it integrates with the rest of the adobe suite really well. Placing smart objects from Illustrator into Photoshop layers, or vector graphics into an InDesign layout it totally seamless and a perfect workflow.

It's got some wicked features and tools. Love how you can change the view of it as well.

What do you dislike about Illustrator CC?

Well not much, but its not all that user-friendly. Must have either taken illustrator classes or watched tutorials or have read books, etc. Also, pretty pricey.
