Zoho is 10x better than Salesforce or any other CRM. Here's why: Zoho has tags (SF doesn't), Zoho has colored drop down menus (SF doesn't), Zoho let's you have Canvas View (SF doesn't) Zoho does a two way sync with AdWords (SF does one-way and then you pay a 3rd party $200/mo to do the two way). For data administration, Zoho's UI is very very easy and SF is super complex. Zoho works with all browsers (SF requires you to use Chrome to do anything on the admin side). If you use Zoho CRM + Desk, you can choose that the CRM only have sales contacts and Desk as all the other contacts, (if you use SF, then your CRM must have all sales and non sales contacts in the CRM which makes your CRM messy). The list goes on and on. I guarantee Zoho is better then SF in every way.
Some of the good features are only available in the enterprise plan not the free plan. But can you hold that against them?? The email deliverability of Zoho campaigns is less then the mail deliverables of mailchimp. This is generally true of most CRM systems. But you can use the "domain authentication" tool in Zoho to improve your email deliverability. But the sync between the CRM and campaigns is great. You can see both Mailchimp campaigns and/or Zoho Email Campaigns.
I was using Salesforce. Salesforce is clunky and slow. It requires so much 3rd party customization to make it useable. I think we spent over 20k to get it where we wanted it but in Zoho, anyone can customize it out of the box. We did pay for a dev to customize Zoho even more and I think we only spend about $500-600. Zoho is made for the modern world.
