The sentiment map shows a snapshot of how Crozdesk users have rated TalentLMS over time. It shows how existing users see TalentLMS with regards to its usefulness, ease of use, value for money and customer service.
I like that TalentLMS is scalable and easy to use. It is well designed, intuitive and works well on both desktop and mobile devices.
The Course content can be created to include audio, video, animations, quizzes and has other features that encourage engagement and learning.
Notifications can be automated to alert Learners of new or outstanding courses.
Although use of TalentLMS is pretty straightforward and easy to get a hang of, the creation of animated content will require some additional training. Uploading content in Microsoft PowerPoint format will display as static text, as animations and Transitions are lost during file upload.
I have been using TalentLMS to create the organization's training & development plan, training matrix etc. It allows reinforced communication of company expectations and provides an auditable trail of employees who have undergone training. It also helps reinforce competency requirements for staff.
I highly recommend TalentLMS for the following reasons. First, the user interface is very intuitive for learners, instructors, and administrators. Second, the customer service has been outstanding. There were a few things I wanted to do which were not available out of the box, so customer support send me sample CSS and JavaScript snippets which could be tweaked for the desired functionality. Third, it was very easy to set up a custom domain and Single Sign-On. Fourth, the reporting functionality is quite robust. Fifth, one can either use BigBlueButton videoconferencing right away, or integrate with GoToMeeting. Sixth, the availability of a REST API and a Tin Can API is crucial for our long-term integration goals. Last, but not least, is the competitive pricing.
There are a small number of enhancements I would like to see in the future (e.g., AM/PM on ILT times, ILT registration within the mobile app, a way to exclude certain courses from the gamification totals), but I do not think any of those should prevent someone who is otherwise interested from getting the product.
TalentLMS is easy to use and has many options relevant for hosting courses. Uploading SCORM files is very easy.
Navigation could more intuitive. When students login for the first time everything should be as intuitive as possible
I use TalentLMS to host courses. To provide my customers a safe connection TalentLMS offered me to help and install my SSL certificate.
It has all my needs satisfied and includes the following
-an interactive LMS system
-intuitive setup
-ability to carry out video conferencing
-cloud. based
I was able to figure how to use TalentLMS to setup my courses in a couple of days.
at this point, I don't see any issues with TalentLMS yet. they have an app for Android and iOS device, but it would be great if they could provide support for building customised interface app for their customers the way they did with regards to Custom domains.
I'm looking forward to exploring more features with TalentLMS
I've been using it to digitalise my content for my lessons and to scale up my business
TalentLMS provides a nice looking and user-friendly interface for students, and is overall easy to use even from the educator standpoint.
Customer support is ticket based and by email. It would be much nicer to have chat supported tech assistance. Having said that, the tech team is super friendly and knowledgeable and has responded within the day.
We are using TalentLMS to provide online courses to students, including ITL sessions. Incorporating Zoom.us was very easy.
Epignosis owns eFront and TalentLMS and TalentCards. We were on the old eFront system that has been replaced with eFrontPro, but our needs are basic and we picked TalentLMS for our migration based on past reliability and support.
We are SCORM-based and don't need built-in course development and tests.
I would have rated the old eFront as a 9 in difficulty to setup and use. We had tons of notes on every little thing and we spent months setting switches and testng things. Talent is quite the opposite of that. After a brief trial of two courses with our final and a course review in TalentLMS, we were setup in under two (2) hours.
We setup 16 courses and then added 128 Lesson Modules (UNITS in TalentLMS) to a Master Course. Then we linked the 128 lesson units to the 16 courses since there is a lot of re-use of your 128 modules. We did all of that in 16 hours of work. In all, we did the entire setup in about 40 hours. Sure we have experience at using LMS products, but this is simply easy to use.
Like eFront, we can disable students that have completed the course and that frees up more slots for us to enroll more students without the need to increment the license limit (and cost).
The system seems snappy-fast and has a modern look.
Sorry eFront, but Talent LMS is 10X easier to use.
Small things to note and the good stuff outweighs the rough stuff.
#1. Setting up completion certificates was a chore. The HTML and word processing is just fair and things like signature images could not work in layers and with mixed results on transparencies in TIFF or PNG images. We ended up using an image file that contained the elements that we wanted and in the places that we wanted them so that TalentLMS could just feed the Student Name and the Course Name and Completion Date. The certificate signature line from us and Blue-Ribbon and our logo were just easier to embed into the certificate. I would like to see TalentLMS work on a better word processing tool like TinyMCE. We used an uploaded image file as the certificate with a lot of the formatting in the image.
#2. Students can retake Lesson UNITS over and over and over. We would love to see this limited to a certain number of times such as three (3) times to prevent theft of our IP.
#3. Need on-line sales? The PayPal integration is OK, but with one quirk that we don't like. Users must FIRST register their Name, Email, Etc. to the Course (an e-mail confirmation option can also be checked). Once registered to the system, the students can THEN pay for the courses that they want. But you could get a registered user that never buys a thing. We're a Microsoft shop (Think ASPX) and we don't code to PHP. So making PayPal buttons work from our site is a chore and requires using an API set that uses things like JSON. They have no ASPX code at all to help you if you are a Microsoft shop like us. We would like to see them support PayPal buttons to their on-line hosted system so that our catalog is the front-end and not theirs for on-line sales. They have other payment options, but look at the cost per month and you might not be happy.
#4. There is a delay in the support. We have had fast responses with TalentLMS (and eFront). We have also had slower responses that took until the next day.
#5. We would like to see TalentLMS create a spreadsheet (Excel) template with the Course Name, Course Price, Lesson names, Description of the course, SCORM URL more. This could then be uploaded to setup the entire course. We thought that the actual time to do these things manually was fast and not hard, but a single upload with the URL for each SCORM unit would make this super easy if you have a lot of courses.
#6. Are you migrating from another system where some users are in-play and not yet done? TalentLMS will not let the Administrator or Instructor pass a SCORM unit for the Student. You could do that for regular lessons that are not SCORM-based. We are migrating away from the old eFront and this poses a problem for us because we would need to enter as the student and take ALL units up to the point that the student is at in eFront. That is 100% manual, tedious, time consuming and not great if you have a lot of people to migrate. The ability to have a Teacher mark as student-leven Lesson UNIT as PASSED is needed if you have a lot of students to migrate in a SCORM-based Course or Courses.
We are about to go live and it was an easy transition. In fact it was far easier than we had anticipated. We sell course on-line for profit. These are our courses and we serve a small financial services industry set.
The support staff at Talent helped us to find the switches to setup certain desired features. They helped us to see that we needed a different approach to handle our certificate needs. They provided some JavaScript to help us make the course catalog list longer than 10 Courses (we show all now). They also extended our trial functionality to upload larger SCORM packages and extend our trial time.
TalentLMS offers a wide variety of feature at an affordable price. It really seems to be a step ahead of the competition.
From my experience, there was nothing I did not like about the software. I wish I heard about it sooner.
I have used TalentLMS to host my eLearning Application
I like how easy it is to embed YouTube videos into the training and then create follow up questions after a person completes the video.
I'd like there to be just a little more customization (email templates, etc) than there is today. But this is a minor detail. It works great for what we're using it for.
We have a constant flow of new employees every year for our Wedding DJ business. TalentLMS has allowed us to streamline our on-boarding training so that our new employees can get up to speed much quicker. It also ensures that every employee gets the same, consistent training instead of random information by learning on the job. Our employees now have to complete the training online and pass the test before we put them into the field. It's been a huge time saver.
its ease of use and the ease with which courses can be created and handled. The look is simple not overwhelming and it does have all the basic necessary features for course starters.
Its still a basic software with limited options in leanring management. Reports created are limited option, the type of MCQs that can be prepared are limited structure.
Ease of use: One of the first things I noticed about TalentLMS compared to the other LMS options out there was the simplicity of its UI. It is very intuitive and felt natural almost immedietly. Learning to use the LMS was made even easier by the helpful introduction walkthroughs.
Power: Often ease of use means sacrificing power and flexibility. However, in the case of TalentLMS I have so far found it capable of meeting all of our needs. It is both powerful and flexible.
Value for money: One of the first things that drew me to TalentLMS was the value for money for an organisation our size. Many of the other quality LMS out there are simply out of reach for an organisation of our size and type. We are a fairly small family run business whose training budget is relatively low. This low price point has allowed us for the first time to explore the use of a powerful LMS.
Customer Support: I have found the customer support to be very responsive and helpful. The built in support system works well and the customer support agents respond quickly and address any issues effectively.
There is little to really disklike about TalentLMS. In the 1 month or so I have been using TalentLMS I have found nothing of note. Like with anything there are small improvements to be made but there is nothing that is glaringly bad.
One feature that I would be keen to see included in the future is including external content via AICC. As a healthcare provider in the U.K., one of the main sources of content available to healthcare providers is only available via AICC because the central organisation needs to retain control of the content. However, we found the systems ease of use, power and value for money more than made up for any shortfalls.
As I mentioned previously, we are a small family run organisation with a relatively small training budget compared to some of the large organisations who may be more accustomed to using LMS’s. The low price point for small organisations has allowed us to use one for the first time.
The biggest problem it solves is it reduces the amount of administration associated with training staff. Previously we used a variety of forms and records, kept in a number of folders. Keeping track of staff training was long and cumbersome. We are hoping with the use of an LMS all of this can be shown neatly through our LMS administration portal. This will help quickly and easily show compliance with any statutory training we are required to give to staff.
In the future we hope to expand our use of TalentLMS as a means to pass on knowledge and expertise from senior members of management. This will help meet future goals of developing leaders and managers within the organisation.
It has a wide range of features for e-learning, which competes with the much larger providers at a fraction of the cost. We are a start-up so we need to keep a tight control of our costs. The functionality includes gamification, uploading content from Articulate, online collaboration, interactive modules, automated certification, tests etc. You can create your own catalogue of courses and also feature them in the online community. We tried other LMSs but the feedback from students on the navigation wasn't good. They seem to like TalentLMS more - especially regarding navigation and ease of use (which is critical)
Initially it took me a while to work my way around the catalogue feature, but I persevered and it's working great now.
We use it for online training of corporate travel employees worldwide, so it helps us reach a global audience. There isn't anything like this in our industry, so now students in any country can access our Diploma Course and a range of other learning, which isn't available to them locally.
Excellent value for the money. Does what you need for to establish a company elearning curriculum.
Wish there was a way to set up ssl with custom domain without extra fee. Class selection interface could look more modern.
