What do you like about Magic Minutes?

Simple-to-use cloud-based platform which allows all attendees to access minutes and reports at any time, and update their allocated actions.
Simple to allocate an action to an attendee and set a due-by date, and email reminders can be sent automatically for incomplete actions or reports due.
Efficient way that it creates follow-on meetings and brings forward actions from the previous meeting.
Optional on-screen timer to control the pace & timing of meetings.
Users can be fully prepared for meetings, uploading their pdfs and text reports in advance. Even if they can't attend the meeting in person, other attendees can see their contribution.
Reports are brought through to the minutes and can be viewed on screen, removing the need to print copies for everyone and massively reducing our paper usage - in line with our Sustainability policies.
Sends email for next meeting which can quickly be integrated with Outlook.
Quick response to queries through the on-screen chat/help.
Suggestions for changes have been welcomed by the development team, and sometimes implemented.

What do you dislike about Magic Minutes?

Any dislikes are more minor gripes based on personal preference.
As minute-taker for multiple meetings, would like to see the meeting status as "In Progress" instead of "Closed" if you have selected "Save & Resume Later". Occasionally need to back-track some details without holding up the whole meeting at the time. In Progress would be allow me to see which minutes need to be finalised.

What have you been using it for and what problems did Magic Minutes solve?

Meetings used to have some users unprepared and relying on memory for what to report, jumping back to previous agenda items when they remembered something. Minutes were often taken manually then typed up afterwards, which was very time-consuming and very occasionally led to comments being missed or misrepresented. We used to use Teams to upload documents and enter minutes as conversations, but this is clunky and inefficient.

Magic Minutes has given us the tools to run our meetings far more efficiently. Attendees are required to upload relevant pdf reports ahead of the meeting so everyone is prepared. Their text reports containing their key details can be added to the minutes by a couple of mouse clicks, so the minute-taker doesn't have to type it all manually during the meeting. For us, the minutes are displayed on a large screen in our meeting rooms, so all users can see the content live and advise of any amendments or omissions. Likely to use the timer function soon to help control the pace of the meetings, now that users are familiar with the format.

Magic Minutes has genuinely revolutionised our meetings, solving a problem that we didn't realise we had.

What do you like about Magic Minutes?

MM provides a structure around meetings and helps streamline the planning, execution and recording of the process. The software engenders a logical systematic approach to meetings but is also flexible enough to support any ad hoc or spontaneous meeting profiles. It is easy to use, makes meeting management much more efficient and provides a comprehensive distribution and task/action follow-up suite of tools.

What do you dislike about Magic Minutes?

We would like to see MM integrated as a core module in an Enterprise or CRM platform rather than using it as a stand alone program. Once you start using this software it would rapidly become a central and much used feature of your Operations Platform.

What have you been using it for and what problems did Magic Minutes solve?

We use MM throughout our Group as it provides an easily accessible record for the full history of our meeting program and gives us an efficient, automatic tool to monitor and track meeting actions.

What do you like about Magic Minutes?

Having tried several meeting agenda/minute taking solutions, I'd not found anything that suited my needs. Magic Minutes has changed that.

I like many aspects of the software; the best features are:

1) The structure of the meeting agenda documents makes a lot of sense. A short introduction to the agenda item and then a separate collection of supporting text or documents.
2) The minute taking features are intuitive and use a pleasant font size that makes it easy to read during minute taking in real-time.
3) Magic Minutes can send the meeting minutes to the attendees immediately or following further editing. Either way, the system tracks the real timing of the meeting, with the correct start and end times.
4) Magic Minutes embeds the action points into the Minutes, in line with the agenda items. This arrangement makes the minutes easy to read and provides context to each action point.
5) Agenda, Minutes and Action Points can all be emailed directly to the attendees and other interested people, automating the whole process.
6) Recipients of action points can log into Magic Minute's platform and add notes to and close out their actions. This approach puts the responsibility for documenting actions upon the action owner, rather than the meeting organiser.

The very best feature of the software is the pricing model. I have a paid-for subscription, but other users can enjoy most of the functionality of the platform without paying for further subscriptions. This approach means that users tasked with managing their actions only, do not have to create a paid account.

Finally, the most impressive aspect of my experience with Magic Minutes has been their email support. I have enjoyed extremely prompt responses and a genuine interest in my experience and suggestions.

What do you dislike about Magic Minutes?

There is very little that I don't like about Magic Minutes. I have made some suggestions regarding the way that the platform circulates actions. I believe that Magic Minutes has already been considering changes that would meet my needs.

The minute taking feature in the platform only takes plain text. This approach makes the process of writing the minutes in real-time easy, saving the disruption of handling formatting options, although a richer text editing environment would give more flexibility. Again, I believe that this is on the road map.

I've been using Magic Minutes for preparing meeting agenda, writing minutes and developing action plans.

What do you like about Magic Minutes?

We've been using MagicMinutes for a couple of years, and I can't imagine running meetings without it now. It's very easy to take minutes, delegate actions, and track if they are completed all during the meeting.

The software is continuously being developed as well with additional shortcuts and timesaving features.

What do you dislike about Magic Minutes?

Not much, there have been some suggestions in the past, such as calendar integration, but they acted on the feedback and it is now included in the software.

What do you like about Magic Minutes?

I love how easy it is to use Magic Minutes - the agenda almost writes itself! The online help and support is excellent - the only query I had was resolved within 10 mins of my raising it. I use it for client review meetings and it definitely helps me keep track of my workload.

What do you dislike about Magic Minutes?

It would be great if the format could be expanded to include 'other' types of professional meetings (such as HR hearings for example :-)!)

I use Magic Minutes for client meetings around HR issues. It allows us to quickly and easily identify key actions - and crucially - who is responsible for those actions.
