Shipbook is full of truly unique features- including proactive alerts- which can be configured to automatically send to one's team via Slack.
Searching capabilities are incredible- featuring powerful log searches via user ID, specific session, time, app version, OS, or other parameters- developers define and combine parameters- so searching can be completely tailored to each specific instance.
There are many more features which are not yet running- and are continually being improved- so whereas debugging is insane with Shipbook- app monitoring- is still in its baby steps and will continue to be developed in the comming year.
Shipbook is great for remote logging- when you need logs to be stored to user devices so that even when disconnected they will be uploaded later to the cloud- Shipbook solves issues that are difficult to reproduce in the lab- with Shipbook- you can just go to the session of the issue what ever it was- and in the log see exactly what went wrong and the cause of the issue. API's are free- and the price cannot be beat.
I found the automatic alerts to be highly helpful. Logs are gathered remotely and saved to user devices - so they dont need to be connected to the interent- only once the user is connected are logs uploaded to the cloud. Developer configures which logs are uploaded and also highly configurable searches. Searching is elastic- & via dev choice of combination of parameters so searching si highly intuitive and can be adapted to meet each scenario.
Shipbook does not currently work with flutter or react native apps- so we can only use it with Android or iOS app developments.
Shipbook was able to send us a list of recurring errors- a feature that is quite unique to this software- and that weve found very useful- in its ability to help us prioritize which errors to fix fix. Individual logs of each session can be opened and inspected - so we had a problem with users of our in india- and couldnt reproduce their error in our lab, but with shipbook- we had access to that users' logs and were able to fix the issue immidiately.
