Software Description:

Geekbot is a slackbot assistant that helps users set up real asynchronous stand up meetings within Slack. The solution helps staff stay organized, up-to-date and aligned with the rest of the team. It only takes a few minutes to set up an initial standup with team members.

Geekbot creates a non-intrusive process to help teams stay focused on tasks. Each department can have its own timeline which is helpful for complex projects. Multiple standups break down information and distribute it to the right people directly.

Some of Geekbot's default set of questions include:

  • What did you accomplish yesterday?
  • What will you do today?
  • What obstacles are impeding your progress?

Users can adjust and customize questions for each standup to better fit the department or team, as well as set a personalized tone. Geekbot can understand simple chat commands such as ‘login’, ‘report’, ‘off’, and primary users can choose who has privileges to edit, and who will be limited to reporting.

All information is distributed through Slack as well as inside the dashboard environment, where users can perform a variety of added actions such as report filtering and additional insights. Users can download standup data by clicking the ‘download CSV’ link manage their email summaries and more.

Software Description:

Sifter is simple because after years of trying to use advanced tools, we discovered that simplicity and the resulting participation were more valuable than any set of features.

We set out to focus on the human problems of bug and issue tracking so that people could enjoy the process of improving their software. Finding and fixing issues doesn’t have to be misery-inducing work. Sifter helps makes it easier:

  • Works great with email. Creating and updating issues in Sifter is just as easy with email. Add attachments. Set an assignee or priority. In most cases, team members can get by barely logging into Sifter at all.

  • One home for everything. Every question, issue, bug, idea, or feature request can live together in a single system. Bugs and new development are on equal footing, and nobody ever has to wonder which system to use for a given problem.

  • Increased participation. Sifter keeps options and configuration to a minimum so non-technical team members are comfortable using them.

  • Quick and easy issue creating and updating. Streamlined forms make it easy for people to quickly add issues. More issues are reported, and less time is wasted filling out irrelevant details for every issue. Sifter even accepts issues from team members via email.

  • Straightforward workflow. Sifter skips redundant or ambiguous statuses so your team doesn’t need extensive training or documentation to make the right choices.

  • Simple status reports. Sifter forgoes extensive custom reporting for simple views into overall project and milestone statuses.

  • Crystal clear accountability. Issues in Sifter can only have one assignee. There’s no passing the buck, assuming someone else is handling it, or any of that. And it’s always easy to know who did what and when.

  • No participation tax. Having more people involved helps uncover more issues. But paying extra for someone to help test for a single week doesn’t make sense. With Sifter, you never have to pay extra or upgrade for the one or two team members who were only involved in the project for a couple of weeks. With Sifter, every account has unlimited users.

  • What is this service generally used for?
  • SwiftKanban helps organizations and teams visualize their workflow and work on a visual Kanban board. The workflow or value stream through which work must flow to be completed is visualized on the Kanban board, using SwiftKanban’s powerful SmartLanes capability. SwiftKanban’s SmartLanes allow for pretty much any knowledge process to be modeled effectively, whether it is a product/application development process, a DevOps workflow, an IT helpdesk process, an HR recruitment process or an advertising campaign process! Work is visualized as Kanban cards of different colors to identify different work-type of classes of service or priority, as needed.

Once work is visualized and managed on the Kanban board, SwiftKanban provides many visual and insightful features to help manage and optimize the flow of work (using WIP limits), visualize problems/ bottlenecks (highlighting WIP limit violations, blocked or flagged work items), work that is being ignored or forgotten (waiting or aging work items) and make sure that there is smooth and optimized workflow through the system.

As teams start to use the Kanban board and process effectively, SwiftKanban provides very useful analytics and animations to help them understand how their process can be improved, their delivery cycle times reduced, and their throughput or velocity increased. All with the goal to boost the overall value and quality delivered to their customer. It helps them forecast with confidence how much they can deliver by when, and provide management and customers great visualization of the team’s performance and commitments.
