  • Fourthline supports all mobile devices that are compatible with the following minimal operating standards: Android: API 21 (limited functionality for earlier versions), Front camera, back camera. iOS: iOS 11.0 and newer, IPhone 5s and newer.

    To support our clients, we also create a (white label) verification app which requires no technological work from your side but includes all best practices for maximum conversion. The Fourthline WebSDKs support a broad range of web browsers that support the use of HTML5. This includes, but is not limited to, the desktop and mobile versions of Chrome and Safari, as well as the desktop versions of Edge, IE, and Firefox. Fourthline supports these web browsers with a minimal version of n-1, but in practice, we see a much larger user base.

    Due to the lower quality of many desktop applications, we see a conversion drop of up to 20-30% at some of our clients. For this reason, we have created a special verification flow for desktop/web signups in which: (1) the customers types in their phone mobile phone number on desktop web, (2) customer receives a text message with verification link, (3) customer clicks on link and continues onboarding on mobile phone.

  • Fourthline offers mission critical KYC solutions for natural persons and businesses that are both secure, user friendly and compliant with all (local) AML and GDPR regulations. The solution can be used for many use cases including automated customer onboarding, remediation, proof of life and authentication/rebinding. The solution is offered through multiple channels including mobile (native, HTML5) and web (browser) and consists of a number of modules that can be utilized independently:

    1. ID photo and selfie comparison: photo extraction through NFC and OCR (front and backend), face recognition and biometrical match.
    2. Data extraction and correction: based on OCR and user input.
    3. ID authenticity: checks for ID security features on 3500+ ID documents wordwide.
    4. Liveliness: user video, biometrics and 3D technology to ensure the applicant is a live person.
    5. PEP / Watchlist checks: *500+ worldwide, country specific and client/fourthline specific databases, including functionality to investigate false positives. *
    6. Device metadata:* Are input data consistent with user input? (e.g. phone language, IP address, postbox and non-residential addresses, known fraud addresses)*
    7. Risk scoring: detailed client specific risk configuration in line with 5AML risk based approach as well as NN's own risk standards.
    8. Ongoing monitoring: daily updates on every case for watchlist hits, new fraud cases, transaction monitoring insights, etc.

  • Fourthline purely focusses on clients for whom KYC is critical to their mission and succes. This includes banks (ING/Triodos/solarisBank) and fintechs (N26/Yolt/Penta), insurance companies (Allianz/Nationale Nederlanden), but also eID/eHerkenning providers (KPN) and online brokers (Flatex/DeGiro).   • Yes, the standard implementation of Fourthline's solution is API based. The exact design is to be defined based on the tech setup chosen. Fourthline supports several ways of authentication, such as basic authentication and Oauth2. Besides this we can support encryption both from a backend and in-app perspective. We use default TLS or MTLS between the client and the API and within our microservice environment.
